@fledge68 Other issues with backgrounds: if I go to the game settings and then back to selected game, the background disappears like in my previous issue.
Same thing clicking on the source button (no matter if Wii, GC, channels, plugin or HB icon).
Returnig to source flow fixes everything.

Also, it seems that WiiFlow is crashing if I try to change the theme. I waited more than 10 minutes but it seems stuck.
I have to manually edit wiiflow_lite.ini to do that

thanks. its the same issue as the game info menu and back. easy fix. as for the quick source select button it doesn't work with custom backgrounds, only source menu buttons do.

and as for theme switching freezing - i don't know. is it on reboot or when wiiflow is closing? switching from what theme to what theme? it could be i need to add some texture cleanups to wiiflows shutdown cleanup.

ps. i'm very close to adding the platform flows thingy.

I was trying to switch from my theme to default and to Rhapsodii. It happens before wiiflow is closing.
Ok so the source button doesn't work with backgrounds. Too bad, I guess I'll just keep it hidden then.
Very excited about the platform thingy:lol:

For wonder swan screenshots it would be a simple fix if I knew how to batch resize the image files. Unfortunately I have no scripting skills, but I would like to learn something, if you could have any advice
I'm using Gimp and I tried some plugins, but with little success with practical use.

I don't know about Gimp. You can try ImageMagick : http://www.imagemagick.org/
It's multi-platform. This is a powerful tool and the syntax is rather easy for simple tasks.

For Wonderswan, you could try this command :
mogrify -page +0-40 -background none -flatten *.png

That should shift all the png by 40 pixels upward.

@regiplex, last time I tried using WiiSXR's dol as a WiiFlow plugin, it just booted up the emulator normally without opening the cue/bin/iso. I assume whomever is working on WiiSXR changed something that broke the WiiFlow autoboot function. It is unfortunate, considering the standard Wii64 and WiiSX usually work quite well as WiiFlow plugins.

@fledge68, like @Tetsuo Shima, I have also experienced several crashes when changing themes. Sometimes it's an endless loading animation; sometimes it's just a black screen after the loading animation. It doesn't happen every single time, more like there's a 50% chance you'll encounter a crash when changing themes.

Looking forward to the platform flow functionality! I think I'm going to get a headstart tonight and make some new CoverFlows.

(I'm sorry if this has already been posted in this thread, but there are 72 pages and I looked as best I could and didn't see anyone with this exact problem.)
Does anyone have a solution for Wii games rebooting me back to the vWii System Menu?

I have been trying to troubleshoot the problem for several hours now. I had assumed I may have Installed WiiFlow wrong, reinstalled both WiiFlow and WiiFlow Lite multiple times. Tried setting the game to run using IOS249 as well, but despite my best efforts, nothing seems to fix the issue.
(I installed cIOS (base 56 - slot 249, base 57 - slot 250, and base 58 - slot 251 through the d2x Custom IOS Installer, assuming thats what wiiu.hacks.guide tells you to install. I don't believe thats the issue?)

I recently attempted to launch the same Wii backup from my WiiFlow Masterpack I have installed, and it started the game just fine. So it seems whenever I attempt to launch a .wbfs from WiiFlow Lite it just acts as if I restarted vWii. (I am using a 200gb Formatted FAT32 SD Card, perhaps that could be the issue?)

Anyone have a similar issue, or any fixes? I'm sorry if this is a newb question, I am admittedly very new to this whole thing.

Wild stab, without looking into all the details, and making some assumptions, but have you tried setting the save game option to system as opposed to save game nand emulation?

Edit:
sorry the specific setting to try is:
settings -> nand emulation settings -> saves nand emulation = off

Thanks for the tip. I just tried that and it still had the same result, sadly.. :(

I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!

Solution:
I read further into the release notes of the most recent release and learned WiiFlow Lite no longer needs to piggy-back off of WiiFlow, and is now a stand-alone app.

- I simply deleted everything pertaining to WiiFlow off my SD Card (SD:/WiiFlow, SD:/apps/wiiflow, SD:/apps/wiiflow_lite)
- Deleted the save file WiiFlow creates, off my vWii NAND (Simply by going to the save data menu in the vWii's menu)
- And installed the most recent release of WiiFlow Lite, leaving everything intact as it is

Conclusion:
I am an idiot! :D
Hours and hours of uninstalling this, reinstalling that, reformatting here, rebooting there, swapping my SD Card back and forth so many times. And the issue was my own impatience. So for anyone else out there with this issue, perhaps you're as dumb as I am :ha: Try reading the whole post more thoroughly! :yay:

Welp... now I'm back to square one. After multiple tests, and successful launches of the games, I'm back to the reboot issue. Since I had fixed it initially, I started adding a source menu, editing categories, downloading cover art and banners, and extracting the NAND to emulate WiiWare games?

I can't imagine why any of those would affect launching Wii game files, but now its back to how it was before. However now, sometimes instead of consistently rebooting to the vWii System Menu, sometimes it will lock on a black screen when I try to launch a game and I have to unplug my console.

It used to show a white progress bar when I selected a game, I assume to represent its loading the game. Now, when I launch, say, Super Mario Galaxy, it displays the WiiFlow animation with the moving white square, then I see a glitchy surge, then it sits at a black screen.

my first thought (since you brought up emunand) make sure you have savegame emulation off.

also do a chkdisc on your usb or sd device to make sure nothing got corrupted.

or start over again like last time. but this time whenever you add something new make sure wiiflow (lite) is still working correctly. so you can narrow it down to what's causing the problem.

Okay, so one thing that results to a crash appears to be putting all the game folders into the same directory. I tried moving all my games into a different folder, and leaving just Super Mario Galaxy in the wbfs folder, and going into Path Manager and refreshing it to use the wbfs folder again. And lo and behold, that launches fine.

So to clarify, this is the file layout...

(By having only one game in the wbfs folder, it seems to launch the game without issue)
NO CRASH:
SD:/ wbfs/
Super Mario Galaxy [RMGE01]/ game.wbfs

(However, placing all the games back into the folder causes a crash)
CRASHES:
SD:/ wbfs/
Animal Crossing - City Folk [RUUE01]/ game.wbfs
Super Mario Galaxy [RMGE01]/ game.wbfs
Super Mario Galaxy 2 [SB4E01]/ game.wbfs
(etc.)

when you add the games back in do you go to the home menu and do reload cache? reload cach recreates the list of games that is saved as a cached list.

I have once, but haven't been every test I've done. I'll start doing that more consistently with every test I try.

UPDATE:
I have also found a correlation between some crashes/reboots and the NANDemu "vwiinand" folder. I'm going to hold off on any more posts until I do some more thorough testing.

are the games all titled game.wbfs?
i'm pretty sure they need to be gameid.wbfs.

Do you mean, exactly: ' gameid.wbfs '?
Or as in (for Mario Galaxy): ' RMGE01.wbfs '?

(I appreciate your tenacity.
My hope is either, the issue is client-side and I find out exactly what is causing what crashes and reboots and I can clarify for any future users. Or its a larger overarching issue with WiiFlow Lite itself and this could potentially be replicatable. With the hopes it could be patched out so no one else has to deal with trying to troubleshoot this much )
