As far as I'm concerned Nintendo killed off this franchise

I want a real RPG, not super paper mario, not sticker star and not color splash

But we're not gonna get it, just another braindead half baked "sequel"

I have some hope after they fixed mario party

Just play Mario and Luigi games. Those were always better anyways.

Those are much more combat focused, and much less character driven

They don't have the same charm as the paper games, but you're right they are closer to paper than the paper games are now

To be fair Super Paper Mario was a fun game in its own right. It had some good story, and solid gameplay, along with some very cool level themes/music. As far as the series goes I prefer the first two but Super Paper Mario is one I keep coming back to because it's easy to pick up and play compared to a full on RPG.

Nintendo have said they don't want Paper Mario to have a plot anymore though so I'm not too hopeful about any new Paper Mario game being much different from Sticker Star and Color Splash in that regard.
