But in this version, there's no cycle-accurate audio emulation? Surely, it doesn't sound bad on here, like, Zsnes level of bad? Or it is using Anomie's S-SMP?

S-SMP is not used because it's cycle accurate which means it needs more resources we don't have.

We don't have cycle accurate audio.

I agree it doesn't sound bad the audio processor code we use now.

So how does the sound, well, sound like? Does it sound close to Snes9x on PC? A good way to test is testing the Lavos scream sound effect on Chrono Trigger.
I know other ports use Blargg's S-SMP, mostly curious.

Whew... finally finished my testing. No other problems to report.

Also of note:

- Got Magical Land of Wozz (Chou Mahou Tairiku Wozz) working. The 1.0 patched version wasn't up to date. The 1.1 translation patch resolved the black screen issue.
- Tried multiple tests with BS Shockman. It loads into Satellaview no matter what. The same behavior occurs with Windows snes9x. If anyone knows how to get in game I'd be interested in knowing.

Since you've been complaining for years about the same superfluous things with the audio, and you already have the Wii U cores (for which you advocate everyone to just use main Snes9x and not 2010/2005/2002), just keep using that. Else, test for yourself, and find out.

Already told you, buddy, that is the expected behavior for this new core. The Satellaview games are loaded inside the bios map, in one of the buildings. No way around it.

People have no reason to be using 2002/2005/2010 if the system is powerful enough to run mainline. But whatever.

No need to get testy. I know what you told me. After spending over 4 hours testing games, which included over 10 minutes wandering around clicking locked buildings in Satellaview, I was just asking to see if anyone knew how to get in game. It's not even about playing the game for me, as the older builds skip Satellaview altogether. It's about understanding how or if it even works.

Also, FWIW, the latest bsnes build loads the game skipping Satellaview entirely, which I found curious since byuu has always placed accuracy over speed.

It's the first building you stand in front of in the town. Once you load a Satellaview games, go north a few steps from where you start. That should generate a scene where you can load the software. I'm sorry he's being unhelpful.

Apparently, I'd make a very bad squirrel. When looking for the nut, I'd look everywhere except where the nut was actually buried. Thanks, will check that out right now.

Oh, I see what happened. I had originally clicked on that building, but as soon as I saw that talking TV, I immediately exited thinking he was going to repeat the last discussion we had. Not a fan of text adventures before starting games, but you know what, it's really not too bad once I had someone else figure it out for me! ;P

Hi there, I have to say I don't hear any difference between Blargg's S-SMP that is used in Snes9x GX and Byuu's S-SMP which is used in Snes9x for the pc and is also used with Snes9x EX+ which I update and test frequently. Both emulators Snes9x GX and Snes9x use the same APU files the only big difference is the cycle calculation algorithm which is added in Byuu's to make it more precise.

In the past I also used Zsnes but I don't remember if that sounded different then Snes9x.

Thank you for testing and your feedback it's appreciated.

Zsnes got a lot of things run, given it was written for Pentium MMX machines, and in assembly and C(?) many games have inaccurate S-SMP emulation. For example, Earthworm Jim 2 has completely broken audio; the music will run fine, but any of the sound effects "streamed" to the SPC700 are missing. I may make a thread/blog pointing out these differences, but I keep forgetting Blargg and Byuu both wrote S-SMP cores.

LOL, dude... i am not a native english speaker, and all i tried to say was (translated in my mind), in a friendly manner, that i already explained to you that there's no alternative, so you didn't waste any more of your time fighting with the emulator, hence why i specifically said "No way around it.". Don't feel threatened over a minor language misundertanding. Didn't even knew calling someone buddy could be considered being bad. That was not the intent. Lost in translation, i guess ;)

Again, i did not understand that you were asking how to play BS-X games in this new core (e.g.: If anyone knows how to get in game inside the Satellaview city I'd be interested in knowing), but rather asking how to skip the bios and play like it was before, else i would have told you to just open the 1st building and load the data, which you kinda did, but were impatient to try. It's okey, since you finally got it going.

Given that you have sabotaged emulator developers in the past with horrible rudeness, constant nagging for features or new releases, even successfully stopping one of those projects, i find it really amusing that you can even say that i didn't want to help, taking into account how many times in the past forum users pointed you to programming tutorials, which you said were going to take, to be useful, for once. Anyway, to each his own B-)

Among native English speakers, "buddy" has a double meaning. Saying to someone, "what's up, buddy" is considered a sign of friendship, whereas taking issue with someone, no matter how lightly, and then calling that person "buddy" tends to be viewed as a condescending\patronizing manner of speaking. So, as you said, it was a simple misunderstanding.

@Bladeoner: Sorry I had a very busy week, so I was late to test.

Yesterday evening I finally played at Zelda 3 (4 hours with your last version), and everything is fine ;)

This morning I implemented your changes to my version (1.52) and Kirby 3 gained a few fps in stage 2, so that's good, thank you for what you do

@LumInvader: Be indulgent with @niuus, when you only have a few notions in English, it can be complicated (especially for your expressions).

For my part, every time I post, I laugh and I think about that :P:

LOL, it's okey, handling 4 languages in my head can be a bit overkill sometimes.

I kinda wished you had responded: "i am not your buddy, pal!", but then i guess you're not canadian, so...

My apologies for the misunderstanding :yaywii:

Wow, someone here is hung up on the past and is incapable of letting go. Keep it up, though, I'm sure it'll prove most productive, digging up past crap people do and all that. Keep it up, buddy :grog:
People are willing to forgive and forget, but you my friend, are hellbent on doing the opposite. Most people don't give a damn and are willing to move on, but not you, digging up skeletons is your MO. Keep it up and you'll be blocked. If you're not willing to forgive or at least forget the past, you are much more FUBAR as a person than I thought.

Past is past, dwelling on it solves nothing, but hey, if you want to keep digging up shit we've done so long ago, that's your problem. Get over it already and move on, or is that too hard for you?

Zzzzz... go and create more accounts to keep being annoying on GC Forever... who knows, you could bring more projects down

I haven't been there on years, get the hell over it already or are you too blind to do that? Digging up the past though, keep it up, it'll help you a lot.

BTW, i don't know if someone noticed before, but Oshaberi Parodius won't work if you haven't loaded any game before, at least once (or reset the rom). Copy protection, maybe? The message is in full japanese.

I noticed it also it's because the game detects a hardware change so you need to restart it once. I had it when I was busy getting the fix for Kirby working. Don't worry about it.
