it has been stated several times and i also mention in my post if you become a patron to m4xw there is a patched hekate and a newer mupen core on his discord disregard the fellow who posted above me he doesn't realize it's a different mupen next core than the nightly

He asked for mupen64plus_libretro_libnx.nro

banjo tooie is actually somewhat playable for me with the patched hekate and latest patron core...i can make a vid if you like

That would be awesome as I am on the same setup (most recent .nro from 05/02). Could you also go into core-specific settings so I can take a gander at those?

Nice!
Quick question, i've been out of the loop lately..
If i'm not mistaken the dynarec does not work on 4.x right?
I just want to know if there's any news regarding this.
Also if someone can explain to me why, i'm curious and would like to know :p
And what is this "patched hekate" thing? What does it do that reduces
stutter?
Anyway thanks m4xw for the work, as always!

The nightly version does not work for 4x, because currently libnx doesn't allow me changing JIT types and I want to avoid redundant code
Patched hekate improves performance because it allows mupen to use a different API which is waaaaay faster, no memory permission transitions needed.
Lucky for you, on 4x, you don't need a patched hekate to enjoy the gains.
PM me and I give u the version that works on 4x (no patches tho, as they are not required for 4x, like I said)

Man this has gotten complicated. So now in addition to the stable and nightly releases there's a version that uses some kind of cfw patches that aren't officially released?

Correct, the patches will be in the next hekate release, atmo thereafter.
You will not have to bother with it as it will be in-cooperated into everything ;)

Oh, I remember reading the need to constantly change memory from Read to Write on the dynarec.
If this is no longer needed that awesome then, I can see why performance improves!

Wish I was actually a good programmer so I could help and not only watch :p

May I PM you to get that version too? I'm on 4.1.0
