I'm getting a weird problem, with my retroarch nsp. It was working fine with n64 and i went to try another console and the whole gui has changed.

Finally worked how to change it back to Ozone but now my n64 folder (within imported content in retroarch) is all jumbled with lots of "core_name": DETECT", files?

Any idea whats causing it?

I'm also having trouble exiting retroarch. Hitting quit just reopens retroarch and i have to click the home button to exit? could that be related?

Running 1.7.5
The playlists are like that because you’re mixing nightly cores with an outdated retroarch nro.

As for exiting, that’s how it’s always worked.

Oh just noticed you’re using the retroarch nsp. The only supported method for loading retroarch right now is this:

im running the latest ra with nsp with no problems, however i did get the same kinda problem recently as well with my n64 playlist..for some reason it (playlist file) got corrupted on its own and there were those "core_name": DETECT" in RA. I checked the playlist file and its contents was different from other playlists i had so i had to rebuild it. Same thing happed with history playlist... Idk why did that happen, but after updating ra and reinstalling nsp now it all works fine. I suppose it was something to do with mixing cores and stuff drom different versions as TotalJustice said above.

Yes it's because of missing cores, when loading some of them the list became crazy.
That happened to me until I update all

Ok that makes sense so I thought i'd just delete everything and start again and this time just get the nsp and download everything from within there. But its still happening.... even though there is only one version of retroarch present.

As for updating, as far as I'm aware there only appears to be one nsp file? so i guess i just copy the latest release from the libretro and extract it to the retroarch folder created by the nsp file?

mmmh It still doesn't work for me for 4do, Sega CD and PCE CD works fine... I didn't make the changes btw if was @natinusala and @m4xw :P

Anyway, 4DO has too much stutter to fully enjoy it, I just gave up on that core, also I don't use overclock... too chicken

Works fullspeed with OC (it doesn't need the max one, 152 is enough). For making it work you need the right bios files.

Thanks @natinusala as usual ;)

I am having trouble trying to play Final Fantasy II with Retroarch. I am on SX OS and trying to use the nsp as well as the homebrew option. With the NSP, when I use one core, the music gets all choppy when trying to load into the first battle on the air ship and never resolves itself. When using the 2010 core, the music continues playing on the black screen but it never progresses from there and loads into the combat. When trying to do the homebrew version I get the same results. Any ideas?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that there is no way to play MAME games with CHD files? I've tried 3 cores for MAME and wanting to get Killer Instinct to work, but it force closes the program every time....i've got the kinst.zip in my ROMs folder and the CHD file in it's own folder. Even if I try to load the kinst.zip in the same folder with the kinst.chd it force closes. I really would like to play some Killer Instinct on my Switch (besides the watered down SNES version)

Anyone know why a mame 0.78 rom (rampage.zip) runs at double speed? The game runs too fast using mame2003, mame2003-plus, or mame2000 cores with most recent stable 1.7.6 build from 2.3.2019

Didn't have this problem with retroarch 1.7.5 and older cores from that stable build.

Also, can anyone tell me the difference between mupen64plus vs mupen64plus-next? Thanks in advance!

How did you get it working? As soon as I click the game, it just closes out RetroArch with an error. I'm using the NSP version, i'm on 6.2 firmware. I have MAME 2000, MAME 2003, MAME 2003-Next and none of them let me load it without crashing out

EDIT: needed to update my ROM...apparently it needs the MAME2003 ROM of KI and KI.chd....
