Does that mean that 4do also supports chd? Should I test it too? Thank you!

Edit: YES, it works to load .chd roms in the 4do core too. Amazing work, than you!
mmmh It still doesn't work for me for 4do, Sega CD and PCE CD works fine... I didn't make the changes btw if was @natinusala and @m4xw :P

Anyway, 4DO has too much stutter to fully enjoy it, I just gave up on that core, also I don't use overclock... too chicken

So i've just updated retroarch to play n64,i've had great results running mario64,zelda oot, mario kart 64
But i cant seem to be able to run majora mask without severe slowdown and skiping
Same with dkracing

Im running
  • Latest nightly
  • Mupen_next(from the nightly)
  • Oc @ 1785
  • Video threaded and not threaded
  • 16:9 adjusted
  • 960×540 resolution
  • Retroarch nsp
  • Fw 6.1 kosmos
Im not really sure what im doing wrong,or how other ppl are getting those great results

Ty for your help
Following grabman's suggestions i put the frame emulation buffer
option to false wich yielded the results i was expecting

Don’t know why but Mario kart runs but has black screen. Also I noticed retroarch says I’m on version 1.7.6, I never updated unless downloading a core updates retroarch. I know I did that. Is the version I’m on causing the screen issue.

Edit
Reloaded an now it says version 1.7.5, maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me or it’s an n64 thing but still I have a black screen on Mario kart.

Yeah it’s says version 1.7.6
Another thing I want to ask is why my game list looks like this, the other games on the list don’t say core name detect at the moment but earlier they did.

I have both updating assets to see if that makes a difference. I think this all started today when I tried net play even though I didn’t find anyone to play with for nes.

Edit
Using Pokemon quest for homebrew launcher.

I think it’s best for me just to delete or replace files because I don’t really know why n64 suddenly stopped working correctly.

Doesn't tell me anything new...i've got scph5000.bin, scph5001.bin, scph5002.bin in retroarch directory, retroarch/system and retroarch/cores directory....it still says missing
There’s something wrong with your bios then.

That’s because you’ve updated the cores, but not the retroarch nro.

I guess all of them distributed online now are bad then...i've tried 6 of 'em

EDIT: I guess Mortal Kombat Trilogy just isn't compatible with this core....tried a total of 9 BIOS sets and 3 different copies of the game...freezes at scrolling text

It's almost as though multi-bin games don't work and is a known issue.:rofl2:

not 5000 or 5001 its 5501 or 5502

Yea, I ended up figuring that out...and found out that it needed to be placed in retroarch/cores/system or something like that, I was putting them in the wrong place apparently.

Wasn't known to me. I thought it would work...that was the main game I was wanting to get working because I am a bit of a Mortal Kombat fan...at least I can play the game on my actual PlayStation though

an old and slow HardWare like ... raspberry pi 3b ... runs enhanced resolution very well.
( cpu 1.2GHz , 400mhz video core IV , Ram 1GB )

It's not like the Nintendo Switch is not Powerfull enough.. But the emulator does not support it.
At least not yet. If someone eventually decides to write a dynarec and a new renderer it might be very possible.

At the moment I believe everything is basically running on the CPU in interpret mode. So im quite amazed that we even get full speed at all :)

I'm getting a weird problem, with my retroarch nsp. It was working fine with n64 and i went to try another console and the whole gui has changed.

Finally worked how to change it back to Ozone but now my n64 folder (within imported content in retroarch) is all jumbled with lots of "core_name": DETECT", files?

Any idea whats causing it?

I'm also having trouble exiting retroarch. Hitting quit just reopens retroarch and i have to click the home button to exit? could that be related?

Running 1.7.5
