Hi guys, I hope you are all doing great, this community has always treated me well, and I am very grateful to you guys.

My question: I will be buying a Switch, it comes with SX Executer installed already, Is it worth it? Is it safe?

Here is the thing, I don't know much about Switch hacking, according to the guy selling the Switch, he tells me that he paid for the Sx Executer license, etc. I have no idea of what he is talking about but I guess that is what's needed to use Sx Executer. Aso he says that this is the best custom hack method, etc.

My point is, are there any other custom/ hacking methods that are indeed, safer or better than Sx Executer? Or is Sx Executer the best option out there? Or maybe is better to buy a "virgin" Switch?

I know this are quite a few question, but I think you understand what I am trying to figure out. I do trust the guy though, he is a nerdy guy from my town here in Chile, it is small city where I live, so most people that buy and sell stuff like this, are reliable.

Thank you again, and have a good day everyone.

Licenses are tied to the console... If it got the license for the console it can only work in that one.

You should make yourself a question... Do you want online or you want to use backups?
There are other methods to hack it too but not all consoles are hackable.

If I was you I'd go for it, I don't give an F... About online, just want backups. I would consider the price too. Wouldn't pay more than a new console just because it comes with SX.

I'd say it depends on how much you're being charged for it. There are multiple CFW choices out there, and everything else other than SX OS is free. The only other thing you have to buy is a injector dongle, which you also need for SX. SX's only advantage I can name is that it has direct XCI support, meaning you don't have to install a game, just drag and drop, and emuNAND support, which (arguably) gives you better ban protection, but atmosphere CFW also has some ban protection with error log patches. It also doesn't have .kip patch support. Nevertheless, by using a modded Switch, you are accepting the inevitable chance of a ban. It's up to your choice, none is really more 'stable' than the other, but it might be worth the buy since brand new Switches, since a few months ago, have been patched out of the factory.

Thank you so much, for replying! And no don't worry, I speak english since 1994, don't know why, but I've always known how.

So, well, the price is the same as buying a new one, plus the guy is giving me a 64gb sd card and I will buy another SD probably in the future. What I don't know is if there is a way to play online, is it? I mean using a custom firmware?

Is there a method to play online with a backup game? Or are you instantly banned?

And if that is the case, can you pay original carts online? Keeping your CFW?

I don't mind so much about online (for all games) but I wouldn't mind buying a few games like Monster Hunter to play online and use CFW for other single player games, if it is safe I think I would do that.

Sorry for all the questions, probably they will be answered when I get my hands on the modded Switch, but still, I prefer to know in advance, because it might be more worth it to buy a new Switch and start from scratch.

Thanks for reading! :)

So, let me get this straight, if they ban you then the emunand user is banned and NOT the orignal NAND/User/Console?

Because that would make sense, if not, other than less risk of a brick, I don't see a point with an Emunand.

Thank you so much guys and I hope you understand what I meant :)

NEVER GO ONLINE WITH YOUR EMUNAND. PERIOD.
You won't be banned if you have a properly set up emunand that's only offline.
Nintendo can't (maybe) see your shenanigans in the emunand partition.

You can buy games that you want for online, install them or keep the cartridges, and only play them online with your OFW.
CFW is ONLY USED FOR PLAYING BACKUPS OFFLINE.

Have you held the unit yet? Have you tested the games he has on there? Have you tried booting to OFW and connecting to the eshop?
Does he have a NAND backup for the current firmware?
Ask/Test all these when you're performing the transaction. No matter how long it takes. In facebook i see a lot of people selling their switches. Not sure why.

Otherwise, if you buy a new "virgin" switch, chances are, you will get a patched (unhackable as of this moment) switch.

Ok, i get it, thank you very much.

Still, and only for curiosity's sake, could you play with backups online, without using an emunand then (using other methods)? Or the risk of being banned is really that massive? And thank you for your advice, you guys always help me.

;)

Yes nintendo has step up online security this time that means ,you only can hack offline ,this is your best option
-emunand offline+backups
-sysnand online

waaaaaait, if u buy a switch with a SX OS installation then u need first the payload and second the sd card and maybeeeee u need some other programs, because every license is first on ur SD card and second on ur switch HWID so u cant use 1 License on 2 Switches. Dont try it buy a not patched from anywhere u want. And then install SX OS / SX Pro on it.

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
