Has the reinx image but also failed emmc and package magic1 stuff.

I will PM you and send it to you if you think you can sort the nand. Just gutted I'll lose all the internal stuff.

Hello! I have the same problem! Did you manage to restore the console? Backup firmware is not installed, due to "failed to init emmc"
Answer me please!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I think what you have said is probably right. Hasn't been used since 27 October as we came back from Spain then. Attempted to turn on last week and nothing.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Okay I will give it a good charge. But why would it say failed to init emmc and gtp when running ReiNX.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I'll give it a good charge mate and message you back tomorrow.

Is it easier to email as you've been really helpful tonight.

Did you manage to fix the nintendo switch?

Just wanted to add @Fragmon to the thread...

I recommend he rebuild the system image and enter the correct biskeys in hacdiskmount, can use guys assist as i wont be around much.

Hello, i have a EMMC Init failure. I have a working Switch (A) and the Switch with the broken EMMC (B)

What i have tried:

Switch A with EMMC(a)
Switch B with EMMC(b)

1. Switch A with EMMC(a) show EMMC Details on Hekate
2. Switch B with EMMC(b) fail to init EMMC with hekate
3. Switch A with EMMC(b) show EMMC Details on Hekate
4. Switch B with EMMC(a) show EMMC Details on Hekate

--> EMMC(b) should be ok (can be init)
--> Switch B should be ok (can init another EMMC)

= I dont know whats the problem

Now i have:

5. Did a backup from EMMC(B) with the Switch(A)
6. Read Biskeys with EMMC(B) with Switch(B) -> get only HWI/SBK/TSC
7. Read Biskeys with Lockpick EMMC(B) with Switch(A) -> get 41 Keys (biskey 0-3, biskey_source 0-2)
8. Read Biskeys with Lockpick EMMC(A) with Switch (A) -> get 105 Keys (other biskeys)
7. Read Biskeys with BisKeydump EMMC(B) with Switch(A) -> get the keys
8. Read Biskeys with BisKeydump EMMC(A) with Switch (A) -> same Keys

Both Keysets cant decrypt the Nand Backup

EDIT: Now i can not initialise every nand on Switch (B).

It seams thats a hardware failure.

Yes. Fixed.
Sounds very promising, as I'm having the same issue.
I will try to follow the "How to install/run ANY Switch firmware UNOFFICIALLY (WITHOUT burning any fuses)" guide to get my current eMMC to work.
If this fails, then I will try to replace the eMMC board (just ~15$, right?)
If both fails, please, tell me how can I send my unit to you?
I do have some backups, but I was never able to dump the USER partition
this is what I have:
- BOOT0
- BOOT1
dumps:
- kfuses.bin
partitions:
- BCPKG2-1-Normal-Main
- 2-Normal-Sub
- 3-SafeMode-Main
- 4-SafeMode-Sub
- 5-Repair-Main
- BCPKG2-6-Repair-Sub
- PRODINFO
- PRODINFOF
- SAFE
- SYSTEM
restore:
- partitions
Will it help to keep my saves data?

In case someone is interested in how did I get to this state: I was playing a game and it started to save my progress automatically (autosave logo showed up), then it started to get slow and frozen completely eventually. I pressed HOME and after a couple of seconds Atmosphere crashed and never booted again. I think my eMMC is corrupt, not burnt, as it looks like it was just interrupted during the write process.

I soldered my eMMC module to an SD adapter, but it's not recognized in the system. I can not see anything when I plug it in and I don't see anything in NxNandManager also. I guessed my eMMC is not corrupt, but dead. I ordered a new one. Let's see if I can make any progress with another module. To be continued.

I got the new eMMC module and it's successfully initialized by my Switch. I believe I could simply restore my old backup if I had one, but missing USER partition does not allow me to get the whole system to work. Partial restore worked fine. All the manuals I've seen so far, assume that you either have properly formatted eMMC or rawnand.bin and I don't have any =( For example, following "How to install/run ANY Switch firmware..." manual, I got stuck on the last line of step 8.4 as I don't simply have the USER partition.
After this I mounted the eMMC with memloader in order to reformat partitions: delete duplicates (I had 2 SYSTEM partitions for some reason) and make USER partition, but something went wrong: I deleted all the partitions and now I even can not restore my old backup anymore. I wrongly assumed, that deleting them will just return the eMMC to it's initial state and I will always be able to restore that partial backup again, but it's not the case. At the moment I only have unallocated ~58Gb and I get Error 6 when I try to restore my backup with Hekate. I tried to format it to FAT32 also - also error 6. Now I wonder in which state was the new eMMC initially. And in what state new eMMCs come from factory (as there are multiple reports about being able to restore backup on blank eMMCs as a part of NAND upgrade).
I believe if I can properly format/partition my eMMC, I should be able to restore my Switch. But at the moment, I'm kind of stuck. If someone can help - it is very appreciated.

Ok, I splited the eMMC partition in two parts and I can see the difference now when I go for the "Restore GPP partitions" options which worked last time.
In case of one partition hekate output is as follows:
Switch (one partition) said:
This is a dangerous operation and may render your device inoperative!

Are you really sure?

The mode you selected will only restore the partitions that it can find if it is not found, it will be skipped and continue with the next.

Press POWER to Continue.
Pless VOL to go to the menu.

So what I believe is happening is the Switch trying to match the partitions sizes and restore them (even though I'm running the no-backup-sizecheck-hekate.bit payload). If I make the proper-sized partitions, I should be able to restore my backup.
If someone have experience with this - please, help.

Another update: if I make a partition with a proper name and size, then I can restore my partial backup there. Then I can successfully test and apply my BIS keys in HacDiskMount. It complains at startup, though (Attachment). I don't have backup of USER partition, so BIS3 key check fails there. Also, clearly my GPT is a mess.
Anyway, after some more thinking, I believe what I need is a rawnand.bin from another console, as my old eMMC is dead and I can not make my own one. rawnand.bin also contains GPT, which seems to be an essential part to make it all work properly. There is a gptrestorev1 payload, that can rebuild GPT, but it only works on 32Gb eMMC and I got a 64Gb version as a replacement =( No luck here. But restoring things from rawnand.bin to a bigger eMMC was never a problem in any of the eMMC upgrade manuals. It should work. Also raw NAND backup has USER partition in the right format. I think, I will be able to apply my BIS keys to it. Maybe I will also need BIS KEY 3 (crypt) and BIS KEY 3 (tweak) from the console, on which raw NAND backup was made to decrypt it and encrypt it with my own key, I'm not sure. Rather that this, I'm out of ideas for now.
Please, someone, share your rawnand.bin with me so I can proceed with trying to revive my lovely Switch... =(
