so basically if i use this method and use autorcm, when i get back to 4.1 i can just rid of the autorcm and im going back to what i've used to play?
i dont even burn the fueses???
You would keep AutoRCM enabled when you're on a firmware that doesn't match your fuse count but you don't need it when they do match. In other words, you would leave AutoRCM enabled when installing a firmware that doesn't match your fuse count and when you are returning to your original firmware or a firmware that matches your fuse count, you would toggle AutoRCM off during the installation. This is all because fuses are only burnt when you boot the console up when running a firmware higher than your fuse count without RCM.

cool, fuck it maybe i will do it this weekend :)

Where would one find the update files to update to 6.0.x using choixdujour?

Because from read it seems you need a cartridge with the update on it and I'm not aware of any games requiring 6.0 yet?

Thank you,

There are other places to obtain system update firmware files.
  • Copy the SYSTEM:/Contents/registered folder from another Switch that is running the firmware version you want
  • Copy the SYSTEM:/Contents folder from a Switch that has a "System update is pending" notification. This will let you pick either the currently running firmware, or the pending firmware to install.
  • *cough* xbins *cough*

I was going to give this method a go to update to firmware 6.1.0 out of curiosity but before I start does this work with SXOS cfw? also can you run this via the homebrew Choidujour forwarder nsp main menu icon? also does your switch have to be in Autorcm mode before you install the firmware or should it be turned off? Thanks :)

Curious about this also.

Another problem with updating to 6.1: https://gbatemp.net/threads/games-require-internet-validation-on-6-1-0.522178/ I have a post in there regarding potential problems with a few eShop games I legally purchased not working after I update to 6.1.

works like heaven, thanks for the support

I'm on 3.02 and i want use ChoiDujourNX to update 5.10 w/out burning fuses.
Can i play new game on cartridge without update the gc controller firmware?

Im using SXOS but for some reason the ChoiDujourNX wont open (black screen) unless I have the Bayonetta (Japan) xci on the SDCard. Cant remember why this is. Is there a way of opening ChoiDujourNX withouth using the XCI?

I am having a bit of a problem. I was originally on 4.1 and used ChoiDujourNX to upgrade to 4.1 exfat support. Since I was staying on the same firmware and just upgrading for exfat support, I was aware that enabling autorcm was not needed. Now I am trying to upgrade to 6.0 but no matter what firmware files (6.0, 5.1, etc) I put in my sd it won't read any of them except for the 4.1 folder. So I can have all firmware files in my SD but the only folder that shows up is 4.1. The rest of em just show a white file with a zero on it. Any idea how to fix this?

how to download the new switch firmware for my banned console? xbins links to original nintendo page, but it seems the update is not there

Question, when we roll back tot he stock firmware (Mine was on 4.x) will we lose all of our saves or is there a way to roll backward / forward and preserve user data using this tool?

Hi I am currently using SXOS on emunand 6.0.1 and my sysnand is currently on 5.1. I am trying to update both to the newest 6.1. I already know how to update emunand but sysnand? As a confirmation Do I have to boot into SX OS boot menu, disable Emunand then run ChoiDujourNX? Anything I should be concerned about?

In case this helps anyone else, I plowed forward!

Some of this might have been overkill but I didn't want to take any chances: (starting point was a Switch on 5.1 OFW, SX OS 1.?)

1) Grabbed the latest SDFiles
2) Put the latest hbmenu.nro in the root of my exFat formatted SD card
3) Updated SX OS to 2.2.1 Beta

4) I heard that Nintendo might have started to let people (even super banned folks like me) update to 6.1.0 officially. So, I unblocked my Switch in my router and tried to update officially and.......... no luck. I'm super ultra mega banned I guess?! :)

5) Booted in SX OS CFW and went into the Album and started the HBMenu and then launched ChoiDujourNX from there.
6) Navigated to the folder that had the 6.1.0 firmware and selected it
7) I picked the "6.1.0 (exFat)" option and DID NOT enable AutoRCM. I don't care about burning fuses.
8) After the update was finished, I ignored the warning about doing something to block the controller firmware update and let the system reboot into OFW.
9) My Switched booted into 6.1.0 and updated the left and right joycon firmware. (I have a 2nd set of joycon controllers so I'm guessing if I ever hook them in there, they'll get updated too? Who cares.)
10) Once 6.1.0 was all done and completed, I rebooted into SX OS 2.2.1 Beta and tried some games I purchased from eShop and some NSP installed games. Everything worked perfectly! No need to 'phone home' or anything!

Saves are untouched when changing firmwares

Does it depend how we roll back? Say using the tool to roll back to an older firmware vs restoring a nand? I assume the latter wipes all saves. Also, if we roll back to a version that matches our fuse count, can autorcm be disabled?

Yes, it will depend on how you downgrade. ChoiDujoruNX does not touch the USER partition but restoring the rawnand will because the rawnand also contains the USER partition. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but you can downgrade by just restoring the SYS partition. And if you downgrade to a firmware that matches your fuse count, AutoRCM becomes optional because you will no longer risk burning additional fuses.

Not sure if I am doing something wrong or not, but I am having a weird issue with ChoiDujourNX.

Whenever I load the homebrew, I cannot do anything other than exit the app through + or through the home button. As in, it doesn't respond to any other input than those two buttons. It doesn't freeze or anything though; I can exit the app just fine and I can also see that one of the folder names "moves" so that I can see the whole folder name. Just can't actually do anything:/
