Hi,
If I haven't a clean NAND backup, can I make an hard reset to remove every information from the console and use it online again( I used SXOS in last 2 months)?

No
Is there some way or better way to install NSP games bigger than 4GB on SD card formatted as Fat32?
You can use either the network or USB installation features of Tinfoil. You can also split your NSP files with the NSP Splitter.

Have been following the scene loosely for a long time, but have several switch consoles and have just been playing legit games. Finally decided to have a look at some homebrew.

Followed some guide a friend used, everything went ok and I've used choidujour to update to 6.1 from 3.0.2. After I got here,i realised I can't use devmenu. although I'm not too worried about it, and I could wait until any fixes come through, I'd like to understand how choidujour works a little better.

Can I just go ahead and install 5.x firmware using choidujour straight from where I'm at, "over the top"of 6.1, or would I first need to restore my 3.0.2 nand backup and upgrade from 3.0.2 to 5.x?

Thanks for your time,

You can use ChoiDujourNX to downgrade back to 5.1. It is still the best firmware for CFW currently.

Me again!!! I know you missed me. So one more quick question. Since I'll be enabling AutoRCM (cause jigs are dumb), I see I can do this through pretty much anything (ReiNX, briccmii). Is there one that is recommended to use over the other?

Also, is a full (raw) backup from hekate considered complete? Or should I use a different NAND dumper? Thanks again!

No, all forms of AutoRCM perform identically and ideally should be removed with the same tool used to install it so there are virtually no differences. As for a full backup, see this post:
The NAND is broken up into 4 parts: eMMC raw GPP, Boot0, Boot1, and some fourth unused one whose name eludes me. eMMC raw GPP is comprised of two portions: eMMC SYS and eMMC USER. So a complete NAND backup includes eMMC raw GPP and boot0/boot1.

Thanks! I know I have to use the same tool to remove AutoRCM that I used to "install" it, but I wasn't sure if one was preferred over the other.

Thanks for the NAND info! I didn't realize you had just mentioned it on the same page. Dumb me. ^_^

I'm ready to pull the trigger and update my switch from 4.1 to the latest OFW and burn efuses. I want the online capability for the moment so I'm not interested in updating using choidujour. Before I do this I want to make sure that I'll still be able to use the RCM exploit in the future regardless of my FW version. I've read that since it's a hardware exploit that can't be patched my unit will be always able to run homebrew, but I just want to make sure that's correct.

Sleep mode is actually unstable on firmware 6.0 thanks to Nintendo so its not all that weird if you experience problems waking up from sleep. You can try updating your firmware to 6.0.1 since sleep mode is more stable on that than 6.0. I would recommend using ChoiDujourNX to update your firmware. And if the SD card is indeed corrupted, you can use your computer to check for that. Although a quick format wouldn't hurt even if it isn't corrupted.

Thx for your reply, I'll try updating to 6.0.1.
How exactly can I check if the SD card is corrupted?

I have an issue: ChoidujourNX is showing all files on my SD including some folders except for the "firmware" folder where I have the FW update stored. Even if I move the FW update (which is unzipped) somewhere else it is still shown as a blank file that cannot be selected. Any clues what I can do about this? Might it be corrupted?

FYI, I just installed SX OS (2.01) emunand. Not sure if this impacted it. I'm also a Mac user. The SD is formatted ExFAT and I have the ExFAT update installed.

Try removing the archive flag set on the folder. Its easier to do on Windows but if you only have a Mac, follow this tutorial: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-fix-sd-reading-problems-for-macos-users.510856/

Is there a way to know what contains a game update? Can't find a changelog on the Nintendo website...
CDNSP Bob V6 can check for updates without a console certificate although I'm not sure if I can link it here or not. I know its up in jjbredesen's Discord server named WarezNX which I also can't post but he may have a link in his YouTube channel.

yeah, i found this GUI on github but i can't find what's included in the update (like new levels and stuff like that).
Also, do i need to install all the upd using tinfoil or just the last one ? And if it's all, in the right order or it's not important ?
Thx

The latest update.nsp is sufficient since it will include data from all previous updates.

while in cfw i can force a save from a pirated nsp game to the sd card by having the internal memory filled. if i where to do a clean restore and use a legit version or cart of that game would it be dangerous to use the save created on the sd card with the pirated game on the legit cart and go online?

Nintendo says it is impossible for save data to be stored on the SD card according to their website: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22289/~/data-management-faq

It even says if the internal memory is full, you will need to make space so I'd imagine the console fails to create save data on the SD card.
