Good, because socialism is good :-)

Except all SX shills and trolls are citing dictionary definitions to say that m4xw didn't take a bribe. Citing other definitions back at them may be petty, but it's called defeating them at their own game .

did he ask for $6,000 ? simple question.

That's something that I think we will only get an accurate answer to if we see the full chatlogs/emails. Otherwise I'm more inclined to believe m4xw as TX is morally bankrupt enough to do what m4xw claims they did, while the claims TX makes against m4xw seem to kinda come out of the left field and unlike m4xws claims (who cited the first email in their conversation), TX is using hearsay/interpretations of chatlogs to back up their argument.

all this is about hearsay, yet you've judged TX and will not have a bad word said about m4xw . I don't know what went on, only TX and m4xw know the facts, but m4xw has avoided answering 2 questions that have been posted on here, was he the one who asked for payment and did he ask for $6,000.

and why did he bother with TX in the first place, this is not just 1 email , how many chat logs were there? . so no matter what he says he must have been interested in what they were offering him.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I absolutely think he did.

and i think he did because he's avoided answering the question. I'm no fan of TX but, I like their product thou. but the truth probably lies some where in the middle of what both sides say happened.

Why does it matter whether m4x asked for payment? Let us presume for a moment that m4x IS the one who set the terms (though I find that laughable), it is NOT m4x's decision what happens with the RA code, especially considering upstreaming was always the goal. M4x understands that and everything they have said about it is demonstration of that. TX is actively trying to make a back alley deal with someone who doesn't actually have control of RA who promptly turned them down for all the principles they've made clear throughout this thread. TX and the shills keep trying to make this about money which makes it clear y'all have no idea how much work has been put into this nor how much money a developer makes professionally.

Edit: m4x quote literally linked in the OP:

"If you want to blame me for trying to gain their trust, go ahead.
I don't mind it, I wanted to see where this goes and I didn't like the destination."

of course it matters because it shows he's interested, he didnt have to mentioned payment to see where this goes and from the very first post of this thread, from the tweet

'm4xw sided with us!' why post that unless there was a chance he could have worked with TX, from the quote you posted 'I didn't like the destination' so again he was interested.

i'ts possible he wanted $6,000 but for whatever reasons it all fell apart. why else would you communicate with them for so long ?

There's no point trying to apply logic or reason here. It's a tribalism issue. I guarantee not one single person on either side is open to the idea of switching sides/viewpoint no matter what evidence (or lack of) is presented.

Again, I never said M4x didn't have the conversation. I said it doesn't matter what the conversation was because m4x was acutely aware of the terms under which RA's licensing is handled. Nobody on m4x's side has claimed anything about the conversation not happening. Nobody on m4x's side is even saying he wasn't the one who came up with the number (he was by his own admission linked directly in the OP). We are saying TX/GaryOpa's claims of m4x "defecting" to a better offer are manifestly untrue. Both m4x and the people who supposedly made him the "better offer" have directly said this is untrue as well. RA is free and open source software. TX's proposal was against the terms from the very first interaction. TX has already said they were the ones who contacted m4x, they're simply butt hurt he didn't risk his reputation for them to take his (and dozens of other developers) hard work.

M4x even said directly that he wanted to see the extent to which TX would go in order to acquire rights to something neither he nor TX had the ability to sell/buy.

TX steal code, everybody hates them.
TX try to buy code, everybody hates them.
Except he doesn't have the right to sell it in the first place for a closed source product (GPLv3). That's the point. This entire debate is not about how evil TX's buisiness is but how their actions hurt the community.

Here is the thing: I don't have any reason to consider m4xw's word contradictory or doubtable. The only one that casts doubt on this entire matter is TX, who are making statements that are not backed up with any visible evidence (the closest is xaiNaix's account of the whole situation, which, since it's not the raw data but an account of said data, I'm taking with a grain of salt, mostly due to xaiNaix at least being partially factually wrong about his belief w/r/t paid vs FOSS in scenes), which if you want me to take their statements with equal amount of value as TX, they should provide it. m4xw provided a full email that TX send him that clearly indicates that his account of the situation holds value.

If I want to take TXs statement seriously (aka GaryOPA's), they need to provide me with raw evidence. Not with statements that are from hearsay or that they extent to their shills.

One person saying something is a statement. Two people saying something is a fact. The only one claiming m4xw tried to blackmail TX is TX who are using someone else's account (which itself isn't backed up with the raw logs or someone else corroborating it, meaning they're backing up what they say with a statement by someone else, not a fact) and their shills, which pretty much count as TX for the purposes of this scenario.

On the other hand, m4xw's statements are backed up by an email from TX he posted, which TX did not deny sending, that showed they took an interest in both RetroNX and wanting to rebrand RetroNX to be used in SX OS (which would be illegal, since that would make SX OS needing to be FOSS, and TX won't be doing that any time soon methinks). m4xw's statement is backed up by concrete evidence (the email), whereas TX's statement isn't backed up by any concrete evidence but by someone else's statements).

That, and m4xw doesn't have an extensive history of being a liar/bending the truth in their favor, which TX does.

and why did he bother with TX in the first place, this is not just 1 email , how many chat logs were there? . so no matter what he says he must have been interested in what they were offering him.
m4xw flat out stated that he wanted to see where it goes (or to be exact "he tried to gain their trust".) This does not indicate that he wanted to accept their offer at any point in time, he was just curious to see how low they would steep before telling them to fuck off.

Or like.. answer the simple question. Did m4xw ask for money?
Okay enough of this bullshit. They ask for a quote, I tell them my hourly salary.
So no, you dont go ask around "pay me money so I work for you".
Also its funny that gary went with I blackmailed them for 6k, because 6k is the sum of 2 things, which funnily enough he didn't seem to know.
So gary, what is the 6k made of?

we all know TX doesn't go by or have any rules, they do what they want, they are not bothered by license agreements or copyright laws. What do you expect from a company that make piracy devices.

we all know where it went, it looks like m4 went low enough to ask for $6,000, he's still not denied it. if he does I'll apologise now.

he says he wanted to see where it went, but as i posted before, from the very first post in this thread,'m4xw sided with us!' , definition of sided. "to support one of the parties in a discussion, dispute". if he never had any intention of working with TX, then why did Libretro use the word 'sided' ? . from their point of view, they believed there was a chance he could have joined TX and using 'fortunately' again confirms this.

of course it's a way out for him to say he wanted to see where it goes,

Well, m4xw showed it above your response. They asked for a price quota, he gave one. That does not implicate any form of "I'll do it", it instead states "If I were to do it, this would be the wage". We already have proof that @m4xw was trying to see how low they would steep (really shows their moral bankruptcy btw), so him doing this to see whether they would carry through on it isn't unreasonable.

That's where the 6k comes from, which it seems TX and their shills has interpreted as "I'll do this for 6k", which to any on-looker should be obvious that it isn't like that, unless you are looking for a reason to call m4xw in doubt.

The "sided" phrasing is nitpicking. When I learn that someone I've been working with was contacted/approached by someone with a laughable request that would seriously set me back and they denied it, then yes, it would feel that that someone has "sided" with me, even if it wouldn't match the exact dictionary definition of "siding with someone".

Yeah... telling someone your hourly rate when they ask for a quote is totally a bribe /s. Because that's what this thread is about.

it's took him 33 pages to make that post. it might be nitpicking to you, but when i read that tweet thats what i thought and my friend thought exactly the same.

Hey TX shill, you should just stay quiet.
That rate was for building a libretro frontend from scratch - and I already posted evidence that they didn't want to do that and resort to license violations and now lies.
Go back into the hole that you crawled out.
Posting in public like that, Tx isn't really smart. Also there are already 4 people identified.
Want to keep going?

He used to be a GW shill on the 3DS days (same as Gary), another point in favor to think that TX is GW, and ur right, looks like TX isn't smart in any way
