Kingdom Hearts is no stranger to HD re-releases. Starting with Kingdom Hearts 1.5 for PlayStation 3 in 2013, almost every game in the series has been playable in HD on either the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 3.

Today, Square-Enix announced a new HD Kingdom Hearts collection; Kingdom Hearts -The Story So Far-. This game is the combination of both Kingdom Hearts titles already available on PlayStation 4.

In KINGDOM HEARTS - The Story So Far -, Keyblade wielders can relive the magical adventures of Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy and friends as they attempt to stop the Heartless invasion that threatens their universe. Fans will travel to iconic Disney worlds and join forces with beloved Disney and FINAL FANTASY® characters in order to fight back against the threat of darkness and bring back light to all worlds.

The compilation includes the following games:
KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX

• KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX
• KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories
• KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics)
• KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX
• KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep Final MIX
• KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded (HD Remastered cinematics)

KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 FINAL CHAPTER PROLOGUE

• KINGDOM HEARTS Dream Drop Distance HD
• KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2 Birth by Sleep –A fragmentary passage–
• KINGDOM HEARTS χ Back Cover (movie)

Kingdom Hearts -The Story So Far- will release on October 30th. The box will contain two discs, one for Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5, and one for Kingdom Hearts 2.8. Currently, it is only planned to release in the US.

Did you read the post? The whole purpose of this is to literally provide the story in an easier to consume fashion. This is all of the games prior to Kingdom Hearts 3.

And there's too many of them, 2.5, 2.8, Chain of Memories, Birth by sleep, it's confusing.

If they aren't going to release this on the xbox one, then what's the point releasing KH3 at all? How do they expect people to buy a sequel to a game they most likely never heard of before. Stupid decision, unless sony has exclusive rights or something.

I think so...I was talking about playing them and where to start and what collection had what games, this is awesome for me, I only played the 1st one on PS2 and $40 is a steal for so many games.

HEY guys, I only played KH1 on ps2, if i play through 1.5 to 2.5 then 2.8, is the timeline chronologically right??

Timeline chronologically is BBS -> KH1 -> Re:COM -> 358/2 Days -> KH2 -> Re:Coded -> 3D -> KH3

I was thinking Microsoft was bad at naming videogame related things, but just look at this mess. How should anyone find out which games belongs where in story? I really hope this games not also have somekind of multiple timelines situation going on

I wonder about people here complaining about a cash grab, that's 9 (once) full price games for just $40... Looks like a really good package to me even considering some of the games where original released for handhelds.

Might be too much but id love a complete story collection where you play the entire series in chronological order on one massive disc or a small one with a lot of free dlc.

I guess if you wanted to play 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 prologue you have everything in one package and hopefully save money. If you already have those, there is no point.

I have both the compilation on ps4 already, but the collector in me says i need this as well. I wish it came with more content to justify my desire to have one compilation rather than 2.

This didn't just get announced, it was revealed WAY back at E3, it was just given a name now to tell it apart... It's basically 1.5HD, 2.5HD and 2.8, just look at the very end of the E3 trailer that was showing what versions are available. I think it was even said there would be a PS4 bundle with it, but not sure about that
