@Wurstmann
It becomes bribery if they want you to violate licenses which is illegal.

I'm not sure that legally this would fit the definition.

"Bribery is defined by Black's Law Dictionary as the offering, giving, receiving, or soliciting of any item of value to influence the actions of an official or other person in charge of a public or legal duty. ... A bribe is the gift bestowed to influence the recipient's conduct."

None of the people are in charge of a public or legal duty. We misuse the term in every day english. In a legal setting it would just be classed as a payment.

License violations are civil cases, not criminal. While bribery is criminal.

Instead of getting upset about how this is or isn't bribery, think about this for a second:
Every single thing TX has made that is "original" could be sourced from outside developers. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but knowing what we know now, there could be tons of developers that TX contacted attempting to get work on SX stuff.

Things that could be sourced by other developers:
- XCI Loader
- SX Bootloader
- Updater
- Signature patches
- SX 'EmuNAND'
All other stuff is not original, as ROMMENU is based on the Homebrew launcher, the nsp installer is based on Tinfoil, the Homebrew launcher in ROMMENU is based off of... hbmenu, and most NAND features are most likely ripped straight from Hekate (although this is not confirmed)

wow i feel i just wasted $30 when now we can convert XCI's to NSP's and since reinx isn't broken on 6.0 I'll just go to reinx now on another note two factors prevent Team X from getting nailed 1) their Chinese they make a lot of counterfeit shit to begin with and they don't follow any laws except China's trade laws if even that and two no respectable Judge would hear a GPLV3 case regarding emulation code because 9/10 users play illegal roms using emulators

This thread reminds me how much more fun homebrew used to be with a gamecube disc and an sd card loader. All people do is fight anymore.

There was plenty of drama in the Gamecube scene too. Anyone else remember Brakk3n and TehSkeen?
Oh yeah I do, that dude was a dumpster fire. that was my point, leading up to it it was minimal drama, but the transition from gamecube to wii stuff was the most brutal.

Leading up to it before his failed "website upgrade" he tried to bully developers into exclusive releases on his dogshit website to boost ad views and e-peen bragging rights. He was a giant crybaby that backed up his site badly onto a blu-ray and did one of the best things he could have ever done and has done since then - snapped the disc in half in a crybaby rage and closed the doors a week later. Some of his stockholm syndromed members tried making a new site but that shit fell apart pretty quick without a professional victim at its helm.

Dude was a shit person to begin with, I looked up his name from years ago and found all these forum posts from people he was supposed to be selling game copying and pirating equipment (lol, and we're dirty pirates?) and he would ignore or report them for asking where what they paid for was, he blamed other people for his life choices and problems, and bragged that he got waninkoko's wii backup loader, then called everyone dirty pirates for using it too.

dude was a fucking trainwreck. He used to have a library of names for this place too. ironic which website is still standing, albeit a fraction of the bickering.

With the amount of shitposting threads and marathons of arguments I just don't think removing comments is enough maybe a new forum rule is in order, b/c this community is just going downhill
just a suggestion or something to look at to atleast bring this community together somehow without such negativity every day

I don't think sweeping important issues under the rug for the sake of harmony is very helpful.
