The only reason you would update to 6.0 is if you intend to play the console online; there is currently nothing else that requires being on firmware 6.0 as not all hacks are supported on that firmware.

You need separate SD cards for ReiNX and Lakka

No, ReiNX leaves traces in the NAND so the only way to remove those is by making a clean NAND backup in Hekate before any sort of hacking then restoring it

so all the homebrew apps i install etc stays on the SD card right?

Use the homebrew application, Tinfoil. The latest version, 0.2.1, also has an NSP verify function in it.
Bans are applied to the console certificate which is stored in the NAND; more specifically, within the PRODINFO partition of SYS. By the way, since you are banned, may you kindly submit a ban report which you can do so from checking out this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/nintendo-switch-banning-hub-warning.508710/

No problem will do when I get a chance but looking at questions I may skip some or answer it without a yes or no. Don’t want to try updating to find out I could somehow become 6.0 but I did get the error code 2124-4007 when I try entering eshop.

What my friend is referring to are the joining scripts linked on CTCaer's GitHub page which you can find here. I haven't seen anyone try joining the parts dumped by the toolkit with CTCaer's joining scripts but I see no reason why they should work.

And switching between ReiNX and Hekate is as simple as changing some files on your SD card as well as sending the ReiNX.bin payload instead of Hekate. Further instructions can be found at https://reinx.guide/
No you can be banned for doing so. Either accept the risk and download the update online or obtain it offline and install it with a title installer such as Tinfoil.

Just to report it, i finished the partial dumping process, took about 4 hours but went right. All the parts were joined successfully and have 29.1gb final.

Hi,
a noob question here.

i have sxos 2.0 on my switch and i have installed mostly update.nsps and without paying attention a few dlcs. I guess because of the installed Dlcs my nand is now "tainted" (forgot to make a clean nand backup -.-).
Is there a way to somehow clean my nand? Maybe by restoring to factory settings? The thing is i want to use the emunand feature of sxos and i'd like to have a clean sysnand.
And if this is not possible is it a good idea to create an emunand even if my sysnand is tainted?

Thanks in advance.

Is the leading Nintendo Switch Emulator for PC using .nsp or .XCI files? I've been creating .NSP backups and Im wondering if they would be compatible with future Switch PC emulators.

That thread is highly outdated and full of misinformation about AutoRCM; you can charge in RCM with AutoRCM installed but it is much slower. You will find my thread is full of more objective and personally tested information: https://gbatemp.net/threads/psa-man...es-not-turn-off-a-switch-with-autorcm.515402/
So, just to be sure that I understand it correctly.
1. The Switch will not charge normally while using AutoRCM in RCM mode, but, it will charge normally in Horizon even with AutoRCM installed, correct?
2. Also, lets say the Switch battery drains to the point that it is not even able to get into RCM mode and AutoRCM is installed, so, I would still be able to charge it and turn it on, right?

Thanks again for replying! :)

Nope, you can only make a dirty nand backup. A clean nand backup is made using hekate before any cfw is used

Question: If I install a .xci game and play it offline, then uninstall it while in CFW, would I be safe from a ban?
There is no way to be 100% safe unless you don't mod you switch. (also nice name no spoilers ;) )

My question is... Can I still play the newest games if I get banned. I don't care about online play. I just want to be able to play new releases when they come out.
If you don't care about getting banned/online play, as long as you can find a .xci or .nsp of the game you can play it (if your firmware is updated to what the game needs)

The switch emulators can currently only run homebrew. Maybe in future if we are lucky.

That seems correct to me

hello, my question is: Are there many versions of autorcm? And if yes, if I install autorcm by upgrading firmware through ChoiDujour, can I uinstall this type of autorcm with sxos? Also bonus question why are there many autorcm versions and whats the difference if they all do the same?

Some questions :

Can AutoRCM be removed ? By doing a NAND Backup or it's faster ?

And i have a 4.1 switch and i want to upgrade without compromising the future deja vu exploit. If i use choidujour to have 5.1 firmware with auto RCM and then when the exploit will be out, do i just need to use choidujour again to downgrade to 4.1 ?

Thx

I'm using reiNX on a 32gb microsd card. I've bought a 128gb one. Is there anything that I need to do febore switching them? Like uninstaling .nsp games from the microSD or something? Or can I just copy all contents to the new microSD?

Hi there,

I am following this guide: to bring my switch 3.0.2 to 5.1 by
ChoidujourNX.

My problem is:
- I get the switch into rcm mode: good
- Backup nand: good
- sd card ready my zip with tools: good
- boot into cfw: switch is booting but it seems i am not on cfw because i cannot access apps through the gallery

one thing is that when i put my sd card into my switch it says it needs an update to work with sdxc cards. may this be the problem? if so how can I get past this? I do not find a solution online/by searching this forum

Thank you :)

Is your SD in fat32 or exfat? Cause without update your switch can only read fat 32 SD.
So format your SD in fat32, launch a CFW and update with ChoiDujourNX, it will install the exfat update. Then you can format your SD again and use it

Yeah that's fair, he knows more on that side than me :)
  1. Yes
  2. Yes
Also I don't know anything, I just like reading :P

The differences in AutoRCM are in how they are installed and subsequently removed; because they are all installed differently, they are removed differently as well. That means you cannot remove one form of AutoRCM with another. This is why you cannot remove the AutoRCM installed from ChoiDujour/ChoiDujourNX by using SX OS. You can only remove AutoRCM using the same tool that was used to install it.

  • AutoRCM can be removed with the same tool used to install it; they all have an option to do so
  • You can either use the homebrew app, ChoiDujourNX, (ChoiDujour is an exe) to downgrade or restore a NAND and boot0/boot1 of firmware 4.1

You can copy the contents from the SD card onto another without altering anything else.

Your console lacks the exFAT patch hence why its asking to update the console and why CFW doesn't load the homebrew menu. Format the SD card to FAT32 before continuing. Also I highly recommend you do not follow that YouTube video tutorial as multiple people have reported various issues after following it. If you need a tutorial, you can find one in this thread.
