Can you list them please lol
I’m a noob to this.
-Instead of being emulated off of something else such as the SD card, its being emulated from the NAND (emulating NAND from the NAND)
-Nintendo most likely already implemented telemetry, if not in the future, if the NAND's size changes
-Given that no other CFW has implemented EmuNAND, I doubt any CFW will work properly in EmuNAND, even SX OS (it has to do with how CFWs patch the firmware)

-You're modifying the NAND of the Switch which means its grounds for a ban if Nintendo finds out

Please stop spreading misinformation, sx emunand does not creates any partition so nand size doesn't change

My apologies. For removing that bit about resizing the NAND, I now offer 3 more strikes against SX EmuNAND.
  1. A permanent modification to boot1 in order to load EmuNAND
  2. An up to 15 GB file is stored in your NAND filled with files that are not supposed to be in the USER partition, such as PRODINFO, boot0/boot1, etc.
  3. Loading EmuNAND is going to create a mismatch in the NAND size that TX may or may not be patching out which can also get logged within the console
Still curious about this error code
2181-4008. It just tells me I'm banned when I hit "update download progress"
You don't see any error code for trying to update your system firmware, correct?

No. Does an update have to be available to get the error?
Nope, people supposedly get an error code if they're CDN banned when they tried updating their system firmware. Maybe the CDN ban has a new error code? Have you tried updating any of your games to see if that works?

I don't get an error code when trying to update the firmware. It just says the consoles up to date. I can't update my games or go to eshop though.

I would like to read your opinions on a couple of things:

  1. What dongle do you recommend using: SX Gear, R4s or no dongle at all (which would require the use of the computer everytime the Switch is turned off)
  2. Which OS proves to be best: SX OS, ReiNX, etc?

  1. The Dragon Injector is by far the best external modchip you can ask for, outclassing any other dongle or SX product
  2. While I don't believe there is a 'best' CFW, I have made a pros and cons chart of all of the CFW
Cons of SX OS by itself:
-Cannot run ChoiDujourNX to update system firmware (which is useful for CDN banned consoles)
-Cannot restore/backup the NAND
-Title installer has a chance to corrupt .NSP files that are installed
-Cannot install custom/homebrew .NSP files
-LayeredFS is currently broken on Firmware 6.0 with V1.9 and below
-Does not display the status of AutoRCM like Hekate or briccmii
-Stealth mode is sometimes enabled by itself (?)

Pros of SX OS by itself:
-raw .XCI loading

Convenience is a subjective matter that will vary from person to person and the fact that numerous threads are created asking basic questions about the CFW by itself means that this is not an advantage.
Cons of ReiNX, Atmosphere, etc.
-no raw .XCI loading

Pros of ReiNX, Atmosphere, etc.
-can do everything SX OS can and more
-creport to prevent error reports from being sent to Nintendo by moving them to the SD card
-blocking of eclct which is a telemetry module of Horizon
-better homebrew compatibility overall
-can be customized to the user's liking
-etc.
-FREE!!!

I looked up some info on Dragon Injector and it really looks amazing, at least regarding the game cart size and being always charged. We’ll just have to wait for it to be available for purchase.

Regarding the “best” CFW: to play xci games with ReiNX, etc, I have to download a trimmed or patched version?

They probably added in an actual error for the CDN ban, since I'd imagine soon they're going to start automating them in some fashion to deal with CDNSP rather than manually tanking certs every two weeks.

Any non-SX OS CFW does not support raw .XCI loading. You will either have to convert them to .NSP format (not easy) or download them in .NSP format (highly recommended).

That means I may have missed out on several CDN bans since the error code is not popping up for everyone (people are still reporting it even after firmware 6.0). Maybe I should change the question to see if updating a game prompts that error code since trying to update with the system firmware just says your system is up-to-date.

Can't say I've seen/heard of any one not being outright CDN banned anymore, but perhaps they have some new metrics on what type of bans to hand out. Or this is some weird ass odd-case of a new error code.
