Hardware Anyone know a USB hub that will allow me to connect 4 usb devices + charge the switch?

Hey everyone,

Other than the dock, anyone know a device that will allow me to connect 4 usb devices (4 mayflash magic-ns adapters) plus charge the switch while in portable mode/table top?

I have a very niche situation at my office and was wondering if there was a way.

I have tried the following dock and it wont charge but it worked for ethernet.

I have tried all sorts of combinations of trying to get it to work as well (like plugging it in before booting, having charger connected first..any variation i've probably tested it).

What about taking the internals of the official dock and sticking it into a much smaller case?
Like the Basstop dock replacement case?

It's tiny, you can use it as a tabletop stand, you can charge at the same time, and you also get to keep the HDMI port if there's a TV available.

EDIT: nvm, the official dock goes into TV mode when an adapter is connected, even without an HDMI cable attached

ahaha, yeah, i actually already have it in that case (but i bought the case before basstop put their name on it), but your right, the issue is the forced TV mode, otherwise it would be perfect. i guess its possible a cfw feature could be release down the line for this situation (but it feels soo uncommon that i doubt a dev would want to waste time on it).

So I googled "usb-c hub passthrough charging nintendo switch" and found this post:

The linked USB-C hub supposedly has passthrough charging, and they claim to be "unofficially" compatible with the Nintendo Switch.

I've never tried it personally, but if you're willing to burn a few bucks to try it out
It'd also be nice to know how it works out.

I wouldnt risk as it might burn the Switch power handling chip...

On my Nvidia Shield Tablet micro-USB, people have done the same, but still had problems, if I remember well it didnt charge right at full power, I also wanted to charge it and have a USB controller plugged in, but ended never buying a hub as it seems it gives more problems...

Thank you, thats exactly it. I got it as soon as i found out about it and forgot to update this thread. Its almost perfect. One side the usb ports are a little too close to fit two mayflash magic ns adapters but a tiny usb extender helps that issue. Another seperate hub also could help.
