Hacking NS-Atmosphere Payload Injector (overview)

I have learned not to trust those tracking things AT ALL for stuff I buy on eBay or AliExpress... maybe it's different elsewhere in the world but they are completely meaningless in North America... they'll show the first few days of shipping and then nothing ever again. It appears to be completely random in weeks and sometimes months when stuff you order arrives, no matter the shipping option you choose.

I trade off the low prices (managed to order one of these for $6 with a Welcome Back coupon!) for the complete inconsistency on delivery time. If I need something in any reasonable time I get it from Amazon, otherwise I order from eBay and AliExpress and hope for the best. I'm just pleasantly surprised when it does eventually arrive, I've usually forgotten about whatever it was by the time it gets here and it's like a mini Christmas haha.

Same as what I do. The weird thing is with the NS-Atmosphere the projected delivery time was a lot shorter (from Aliexpress) . I live in Canada and I received it within 2 weeks. I was quite surprised.

For me that all depends on the postal services in my country. Those tracking sites will track the package while it is in China, it is then up to your local postal service to relay their own tracking information back to those sites.
Here in the UK it is the Royal Mail who deal with all of the cheap/free postage situations.

I have noticed that recently tracking is much better for the UK now, I asked my mail guy and he said it was because of the amount of reportedly lost packages. Which he said is also why I had to sign for every little tiny package that I received since earlier this year.

So yeah it all depends on the actual postage service in your country and how they manage things, not the ones while it is in China/Singapore, hence why it is also so accurate and updated until it gets to the "departed country of origin" status.

I think that comes down to the Royal Mail being much more efficient and organized... I don't think USPS and Canada Post care about any package that isn't from a big business or contains anything worth less than $100, or they could get in trouble for not delivering. They know if it comes directly from Asia most people aren't reasonably expecting it to arrive at all haha. 99% of it WILL arrive if it wasn't small enough it's just a matter of when that no one in North America will ever know.

My dongle (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32901146622/32901146622.html) can be detected by this NS Atmosphere program as well but I don't know if they use the same motherboard. Can anyone tell me if I can use the flashing program with this dongle or not?

EDIT: Probably dumb of me but I tried it and nope it doesn't work xd

If you look at the images I added to the OP they show what the inside of this dongle looks like, you can see that this is different to the one you have.
That being said, it's not that your dongle is being detected by the program, it just detects the COM port that the dongle is associate with (this is basically the usb port you connected it to).

So all it is doing is finding a device that is registered on that port, but obviously you have a different dongle which is why the program does nothing.

It's never dumb to at least try something like that, you never know if it'll work anyway, I'm sure a lot of the parts could be similar.

I haven't seen the one you got before and to be honest is a bit more expensive than the NS Atmosphere one... maybe get one of those too?? haha

I might wait until someone else does it first, seeing as flashing it will cost more than the ns-atmosphere cost me & I'm not sure the benefit is worth that.

just got mine, very good shape and a bit heaver then i thought.
the jig need a bit of force to get it out from the dongle at first, also the dongle need to "click" in the switch which mean i need to push it little harder to click in thw switch

also i didn't need to reboot my PC to install the driver, the app just worked as COM3 when i pressed the RST button twice.

EDIT: i injected the SX payload and it worked.
tried injecting reinx and i see it boot screen but no reinx logo, and it boot to OFW.

not all phone can run the payload correctly, also you still need a cable and it's not as easy as using small injector.

well it's easy to find an OTG connector combined with USB A>C cable, or just a USB C-C cable, i think all android phone si able to send payload i think, dunno about that overrated applephone

i already have OTG cable, but it didn't works for me, i have HTC m9.
plus i said it before, it's just much easier to use a dongle then t use a phone + cable + OTG.

Yeah rebooting to install the driver isn't always neccesary, I updated to windows 10 recently and the driver installed automatically without issue unlike before.
I have the click too when inserting, I kinda like it because I know it is secure once I hear the click (not a lot of force needed for mine).

Might sound obvious but do you have the files for reiNX on your sd card? The latest version of reiNX is missing files that you need to download by following the official guide (dunno if that's needed for sigpatch though). It also requires 5.1 unlike previous versions of reiNX.

Either way if it is sending payloads to the switch then it's all good
