@Ashura66

I know they ban consoles only, but the way the sistem is set up, they also ban accounts. I highly doubt it's the cert that serves as a gatekeeper. there's many other types of banishment possible, like through the MAC of the device (though you could spoof it), machine serial, etc.

The certificate being served is just a file created by the system containing information about the client that tells the host that the the remote client is reliable.
Failing, the host refuses the connection and saves the client info. At least, it's my reasoning of it. Unfortunately, I don't even know how to begin messing with the system, or I would study the subject further.
I would suggest reading up here on how access to the eShop works so you can better understand not only banning the console certificate works but why they don't need to ban the account or any other info to achieve their end goal of banning a user: https://www.reddit.com/r/SwitchHacks/comments/759myu/the_eshop_and_cdn_explained_switch_edition/

Weird way of unbanning.

but it would work... right :rofl2:

how many people are actually within the return period? not viable solution to most people.

I was meaning as in buy a whole new console, check if it's patched or not then return your old one... I highly doubt the store checks the serial on the console as long as it's there and turns on.

stores indeed check serials as it's printed right on the receipt. It's 2018 you know.

like through the MAC of the device
How? The MAC is used for layer 2. You'd have to be connected DIRECTLY to Nintendo's router/server, otherwise your MAC is not transferred to them. The MAC is not used in layer 3.

In the future you may be able to unban by using a cert from another unit, but currently that functionality is not available.

Easiest thing to do is prevent bans in the first place by using NAND backups and staying offline whenever you're using CFW or have illegitimate NSPs installed.

Most people say it's not possible to unban, however the 3DS had a public file that you could use that would unban you. It was from an unbanned 3DS.
I think you could do the same thing with a Switch cert. Still wouldn't be very good...
yes nut thats all locked out on the switch

I believe the answer to that would be a CFW (could be heavily modified Horizon) that would not head the restrictions set by Nintendo on the console.
As of now they have full control over your device even remotely.

In which case you do a case swap and break one of them such that said shop can not power it on. Such things were common enough practice during the 360.

(eShop/Online ban) Is it possible, I'm not talking about is taking too long, I would say is normal, it took like 1 or 2 years on Wii U(in that case, bans were less common), I'm talking if it's even possible.
Does the ban take any credential from the Switch itself and not from the Nand? Would an unban be possible with emunand? Does the online use a cert too? (Noob question)
Or is just impossible and will never happen?

(Super Ban) Same questions as above, but also, would cert change be possible via emunand or/and a CFW?
It's possible, it's probably viable, but chances are the unban won't last very long at all unless we get proper stealth patches. ESPECIALLY public certs, those are probably going to get banned within a day of them going public.

The days of the 3DS and Wii U are over I'm afraid. This is why you get 2 consoles, one for hacking and the other for legit play.
I would probably go with the old classic that has been true since dial up MUDs

You hack, you lose online. Any online you get is a perk. It might be possible to bypass things for a while or create a secondary network but that is not assured.
