Homebrew Need some info on the new update(11.8)

Hi, I'm currently on b9s, luma, 11.6 on my new 3ds xl.

I was away from the scene for 6 months and just need some info on the current situation. One word answers are fine.

1. Should I update to 11.8?
2. Is it ok to update luma to the latest version while on 11.6?
3. Is it safe to use freeshop on 11.6?

it has the same anti-piracy measures as the Switch (although not enabled yet) and could render FreeShop useless

1-At some point using eShop and online play will require you to be on 11.8, so if you use freeShop while on a lower version, that could be a ban trigger. I would update.

2-Yes.

3-Until Nintendo forces an update, yes.

There's no reason to not update. You can't play online on 11.6 anyway, so regardless of what the anti-piracy measures might be, staying on 11.6 is just banning yourself. And freeShop is already dead no matter what firmware you're on.
