Yes you can precisely do that ! Be careful to always use the modified hekate provided by rajkosto and to boot with the "No GameCard Update" option if you don't want to lose the possibility of using game cartridges after a downgrade though. And you won't be able to use cartridges on 5.1 by doing so, but eShop games work just fine. Read the fourth question of the FAQ for more info about this.

Hekate is a custom bootloader that never checked fuses if I'm not mistaken (why would it?). The point of not burning fuses is to later be able to boot on a low official firmware and enjoy coldboot exploits that should negate the need to use the fusée gelée exploit altogether, which has the big downside of being a tethered exploit. We now that such exploits exist at least up to FW4.1, and we now that sciresM plans to adapt atmosphere to them up to 3.0.0 in a nearish future, it's just that for now none of them are public.

Not sure what you mean. nogc is an option that you ad to a launch target in hekate_ipl.ini and then you need to select this target through the modified version of hekate made by rajkosto that supports such option. This version of the hekate payload is linked in the FAQ. Read the fourth question of the FAQ, everything is explained.

No you won't be able to use gamecards on a FW>4.0 if you use the nogc option, that's the price to pay to avoid updating the reader. (Sorry too lazy to write it in french too but you seem fairly fluent anyway

mec, c'est toi quoi parle de l'option noGC. ça veut dire NO GAME CARTRIDGE READER, c'est pour les gens qui parte d'un fw de base entre 1.0 et 3.0.2 et qui veulent passer à 4.0-5.1 grace à ChoixDuJour, sans que le fw du lecteur de cartouche se mette à jour et qu'un efuse du lecteur de cartouche ne crame. (Nintendo a fait changer la maniere dont sont faites les cartouches avec le 4.0 pour que les gens update et ne revienne pas en arriere)

( dude, you're the one mentioning the no GC option. it means no game cartridge reader, aimed at ppl on 1.0-3.0.2 that wants to upgrade to 4.0-5.1 with ChoixDuJour, without the cart reader fw to be updated and a cart reader fuse to be burnt.
Nintendo introduced a new type of cart format with 4.0, so as to make ppl upgrade without the ability to go back (to being able to read their games on prior fws)
ppl have been talking about this on and off since this thread started...if this is too complicated for you, wait for a guide on a french board. )
