is it possible to enable blue-tooth controller support via CFW or does it require dedicated hardware?
Whatda ya mean ? Official Nintendo joy cons or the Mayflash magic NS shit?
Either one works fine regardless. Any CFW will still let you use your Nintendo joy cons remotely plug and play style, Mayflash on the other hand you need to buy extra accessories (20$ usb dongle) to use PS or Xbox Bluetooth controllers. Same as OFW. CFW adds software not hardware that wasnt already there to begin with.

Just picked up a brand new Switch and 200GB Microsd in order to use for backed up games.

1. Should I be connected it to the internet and updating to the latest firmware?

2. Which hack is the best / safest? I have no problem with buying a mod, I just want the best thing. Where is the guide I should follow?

3. Will I be able to play online or will that not ever be possible and what do I do to prevent that?

4. I heard games have been released trimmed, how many will I be able to fit on a 200GB Microsd?

First and foremost ,sensing your precautions tone, back up your raw/system nand with both boot partitions ASAP.

1.Reguarding your #2 question Im gonna go out on a limb and say no because your already planning on hacking it (stay in airplane mode) and latest firmware depends on really how patient you are. Assuming you have a new unpatched 4.1 switch you might wanna stay on that for the most convenient means of using atmospheres CFW or the notorious unreleased Deja Vu in the future. If your impatient update and then get SX OS and play all the xci and nsp dumps you can get your dirty hands on. If you do update, backup your nand again with every FW change. Just beware efuses will burn out once youve committed to updating FW by normal means. If you care about your efuses then follow this guide.
2.No hack atm is considered safe read this to gauge whats evolving with hacking risks involved and Nintendos theoretical banning telemetry. As far as the best thing.. SX OS has most to offer for for playing games and being more on the user friendly side of things if thats what you mean by best. Goole search for sx os.
3.If you care about being banned Im gonna say no once you've altered your switch in anyway you've dug your grave and gonna have to lay in it if your console (or account at the most extreme case) is banned. Online without risks is not a thing yet. If you wanna be clean and risk free once again to go online at any point, restore your nand to an "untainted state" . Which is why I recommended you back up your nand to begin with before doing anything.
4.Completely circumstantial I personally have game files that range from 30 MB to 14 GB in file size. So depending on what games you choose can make or break your 200GB SD card.

Is it a bad idea to clear my error logs? I've heard people say it got them banned, just wanted to check.

5.0.0 really upped the info in Crash Reports: http://switchbrew.org/index.php?title=Creport&curid=147&diff=4799&oldid=1899 …. Be careful with tools like dreport, too, it looks like erpt maintains statistics about reports saved/uploaded/failed to upload, deleting may cause detectably inconsistent statistics.

Considering the source ..yes

Can I unplug the USB C as soon as I inject the payload or do I have to wait for a certain period of time?
As soon as the payload is injected, waiting is not necessary.

Is there a reason to stay on firmware 4.0.1?

It say I need to update to use my 256Gb microSd, but I would prefer to stay on a lower firmware, plus I do not want to use AutoRCM every time to be sure to do not burn efuse.

Is there any sense in staying on a lower firmware, or since my switch is fusé gelé compatible (hekate works) I can just upgrade it and who cares?

Rule of thumb the lower the better stay on your FW and use this guide
https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...tch-console-on-any-ofw-without-update.505182/

Im just wondering.
Is it possible to apply a NSP update to a XCI game?

Yes have done this successfully myself through devmenu

I haven't hacked my Switch yet. AFAIK we simply don't know everything that can get you banned. What if I immediately make a system backup after injecting a payload. Right before turning my Switch off I restore the backup. It's quite an awkward thing to do but would this method offer 100% protection against a ban?
So far, its the safest best. Not 100% safe since you need to hack the console to make the backup, but its much better than everything we else have to offer at the moment.
im not to deep into the switch scene.
Is there an alternative to the SX + Dongle now or will be in the future?
What is going on with atmosphre os?
ReiNX seems to be the upcoming alternative to SX OS in that it will play backups (both .XCI and .NSP) as well as not costing a dime. The issue is that there is still no release date for it not to mention it will not come with something as convenient as the dongle for sending payloads. However, making something like the dongle requires a certain amount of skill from a user and may never have a free alternative.

You can unplug it as long as you have confirmation that the payload has been sent. Keeping it plugged in after sending payload automatically charges the device.
Has anyone running TX OS being able to run the NSwitchDebugger from here https://ux.getuploader.com/GAMES24/download/250? It's a ram editor that will allow you to mod games but I read that it's not supported by TX OS. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.
Considering that I haven't seen this tool name-dropped on GBATemp yet, I'm not sure it even works on non-SX OS CFWs.

It does work,
If both your computer and phone aren't recognizing the Switch, its definitely not entering RCM. I think you should make a thread and title it "Switch is not booting into RCM with jig/screwdrivers. Maybe other users can give better hints on how to short pin 10 in the Switch.

https://gbatemp.net/threads/rcm-payload-hekate-mod-raw-full-nand-backup.502604/ This first one is extremely similar to the Hekate one except it can do it in parts so if it is interrupted, you can pick up where you left off since that was your problem earlier.

Another method involves simply copying the NAND from within your computer. https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...icrosd-card-as-an-usb-disk-on-your-pc.503701/ This payload will mount the Switch's eMMC on your computer and then you can just copy and paste the files onto your computer's hard drive. This method takes a little big longer.

The last, and least friendly way, involves Linux. https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-dump-switch-nand-using-linux.502201/ Thankfully, in the Tutorials section of the Nintendo Switch section are some useful guides on how to boot Linux. This one would be considered the last resort if you cannot dump it any other way.

Yeah I just reread your original post. 1.0 is the only firmware to boot into RCM using a softmod publicly. I believe ReSwitched is holding onto the exploits that work up to 4.1 and are choosing not to release them until, like you said, Atmosphere is completed. Whether anybody else will release it before then, well, who knows? The bootrom exploit got leaked ahead of schedule.

People have been dumping their saves as well as other things on the latest firmware and nobody has been banned yet so possibly? Everything (aside from downloading NCA or Switch games directly from Nintendo's CDN) has a low to zero chance of getting you banned.

Just put the jig in, then hold power and volume +. If you don't see the Nintendo logo and the screen stays black, congratulations you've entered RCM!
here it is :)

I need to frequent that subforum more :P

Anyways, based on how it works, it cannot work with SX OS because it cannot load kips. So either TX has to modify their OS to accept kips or someone has to crack it and make it work with kips.
I see, thanks. But doesn't TX OS allow you to load another CFW? Can I load hekate and then use this tool for my purchased games?

I am ready to do this but need some guidance.

I have a 4.0.1 Switch.
I have a 3d printed Jig.
I have ordered SX Pro and am waiting for it to be shipped.

I got into RCM and dumped my Nand. I want to update to 5.0.2 or latest fw but also want Exfat support. I was going to use this guide...

https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...tch-console-on-any-ofw-without-update.505182/

But I need to know about the encryption keys. Is there supposed to be a spaces between the "Key_00 and = sign and the = sign and the actually key sequence?

Also, if I then use this guide after getting exfat support...

https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...nofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/

Will I lose Exfat support? Also, how do I ensure I do not lose cartridge slot usability?

Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone, I've got a new switch on 1.0.0, it's never been connected to the internet and I'm planning on using it for online and never hack it. Is it safe to update from 1.0.0 directly to 5.1.0? I read something about burning fuses but I'm not sure.

The simple answer is we don't know but I can explain where this answer comes from.

No one has been banned for updating without burning fuses alone (yet) meaning we can say its theoretically safe, however people have been banned despite doing this meaning its possible that updating without burning fuses led to their ban. On top of that, we don't know what type of information Nintendo receives when the console is online as well as which information will lead to a ban. In short, be prepared to face a ban for doing anything modifications to your console that violates Nintendo's Terms of Service.

Anyways, here is the guide should you choose to follow it: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...nofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/

There is an easier but riskier alternative that requires the use of something that has a very high effectiveness in booting RCM: https://gbatemp.net/threads/an-easy...ch-firmware-without-burning-any-fuses.511847/

So if I will never hack it's safe to update normally and don't worry about fuses? I have a banned switch that I use for all the hacking stuff, I want that 1.0.0 switch for online playing 100% legal
