Once I boot to rcm, can I remove my jig? Or we have to keep it in place until I send a payload?
Remove jig once you have entered RCM which is indicated by the screen staying black and not showing the Nintendo logo (this only applies if you don't have a setup that automatically delivers payloads).

i boot RCM with jig/foil > remove my foil > connect usb and send payload.

But that is because i get paranoid using a foil, too scared it might break something when being inserted for too long lol

Thank you guys

in this guide im tring to use one of the 5.x games from nswdb.com,
the problem is that every game i tried said this:
"Invalid XCI partition!"
this happand when the script is trying to execute this:
hactool.exe -t xci --updatedir=update %1
do you know what can i do?

Do you know if nintendo eshop is splitting game when downloading?
Can I download Bayonetta 1 (8GB) on a FAT32 µSD, or it will deny to download and ask for an exFAT µSD?

I dont think it spilts downloads. If your out of space on the switch itself(32gb) and micro sd then yes you would need a bigger micro sd.

Edit: Im not sure if you thinking of the transfer limit of fat 32 which is locked to 4gb, but that doesn't affect the download itself. That limit only affects you if you decided to move a file onto the sd card itself.

If i remember correctly, when u downloaded/installed DLC on the 3ds which u didnt pay for it would get deleted upon going online/entering the Eshop.

Is this also the case with DLC ive installed with devmenu on the switch? Or will it stay?

Iirc, it only happened for home menu themes, my dlc never got deleted, nor in gateway mode, nor in luma

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Btw, is there a way to set a background wallpaper?

Sadly the background options are only white and black. I hope in the future we will have more options.

How do I get a 100% backup of my Switch NAND? Thanks, and I mean what tool do I use.

Edit: i assume it's Backup eMMC RAW GPP.

Seems like you found the right tool. And that's only one of 4 partitions of the Switch's NAND. You also need Boot0/Boot1 to complete the dump. There is another partition titled RPMB but its unused according to CTCaer so we cannot dump it for now.

is there any benefit for staying on 4.1.0 as i cant play backups
4.1 has access to an unreleased exploit that doesn't involve the need for a jig and USB cable but instead loading a webpage. If you don't mind using a jig and USB cable, then update. If you want to update, I would recommend one of the following guides as they will allow you to update without burning fuses.
This one is more foolproof but involves more steps: https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-...nofficially-without-burning-any-fuses.507461/
This one is simple to follow but requires a 100% effective method of inducing RCM: https://gbatemp.net/threads/an-easy...ch-firmware-without-burning-any-fuses.511847/

4.1 can also load backups via LayeredFS. I'm not sure if that guide is properly updated for 4.1 users, but if it isn't, you can find the properly updated files as well as instructions on SimonMKWii's Discord Server.

I haven't hacked my Switch yet. AFAIK we simply don't know everything that can get you banned. What if I immediately make a system backup after injecting a payload. Right before turning my Switch off I restore the backup. It's quite an awkward thing to do but would this method offer 100% protection against a ban?

Is there a reason to stay on firmware 4.0.1?

It say I need to update to use my 256Gb microSd, but I would prefer to stay on a lower firmware, plus I do not want to use AutoRCM every time to be sure to do not burn efuse.

Is there any sense in staying on a lower firmware, or since my switch is fusé gelé compatible (hekate works) I can just upgrade it and who cares?

im not to deep into the switch scene.
Is there an alternative to the SX + Dongle now or will be in the future?
What is going on with atmosphre os?

Just picked up a brand new Switch and 200GB Microsd in order to use for backed up games.

1. Should I be connected it to the internet and updating to the latest firmware?

2. Which hack is the best / safest? I have no problem with buying a mod, I just want the best thing. Where is the guide I should follow?

3. Will I be able to play online or will that not ever be possible and what do I do to prevent that?

4. I heard games have been released trimmed, how many will I be able to fit on a 200GB Microsd?
