So guys? With all that speculation, is there any word of anyone working on trying to find out and bring us an XCI loader?
I'd really love to launch bounties on certain things the community would like to see achieved on the console, I think there was something of the kind done back in the xbox og days, maybe we should do it again? I'd gladly donate to this, anyone knows how to properly set this up?

It may appear, but I doubt anyone want to put their name on it. Look it like this: Anti Piracy stance means no developer would develop back up loader. Title installer is different even though it can be used for back up loader purpose later on. So if there is a back loader it would come out like Wii U Brazillian method with no author.

Well I think we can both agree it's just plain boring, what happened to anonymous developers dropping in the scene and bringing amazing things even though illegal?
I still remember DarkAlex and the PSP, his CFWs were just wonderful, when there was too much pressure on him he just went under another name and made the M-33 CFWs, now that was a great thing, I hope to see this kind of people rise in the switch scene :)
Well anyway I guess there is just too much pressure around this nowadays, it might have been a little easier for previous console gens, still it is frustrating to see people care so much for the law on the internet, there was a time were only moral ruled around here, no laws, it was just way funnier (but hey I'm getting a little off-topic here :P)

Yeah, I wish there was a team of hackers that made an easy tool to play backups and run homebrew on the switch...

Meanwhile i'm here just waiting for linux to run flawless, i just don't care about custom firmware because with great linux support we can do whatever we want with a switch in terms of homebrew.
I just wish there were more hackers working on that.

Hmm in my opinion, if we get perfect linux on the switch, the applications we run on that that isn't really homebrew.
It's just a linux executable right.
Homebrew to me is running on the actual os.
If I run linux on ps3 and run mgba, I wouldn't call that homebrew.
But running mgba on 3ds, yes.

Then that applies to Team Xecutor, as they leached from reswitched. Oh wait, your going to let a double standard happen aren't you?
All they'd have to do is give credit for using open source code. Nothing "double standard" about it.

"Namaste ;)"

Love this little jab that Hexkyz says. Releases an unpacking tool that's really only useful to aspiring devs and he treats it like a fully fledged crack, because he has to get off on trying to fuck TX and continually releases ways to crack content.
The hypocrisy on this man is unreal.

I don't see Reswitched's Atmosphere Backup Loader on SXOS. Do you? And what about the Atmosphere's signature patches? Those were leached too?
Yeah they leached some stuff, but at least they finished the CFW. If Reswitched didn't want their code leached, making it Open Source was a bad idea. There's a lot of code in SXOS that they wrote themselves, but noooo "hehe they stole everything hehehe"

Um, you just set the hekate bootloader to load the kip1's and thats it. HOS will probanly crash though, the kip's aren't relocated properly since they're not loaded with "sx os's" loader
Hahaha you still can't load them mate, that's the point.

But running mgba on 3ds, yes.
I mean, Homebrew is software made at home by thirdparties, just not made by big companies, the term could still apply to a lot of other definitions, you can code something for fun and running it on horizon or your desktop linux or windows machine won't make it stop being homebrew, unless you don't want it to be and patent it or who knows? Whatever you want, is your code.

But they haven't, so it still is a double standard. And will remain until credited.

The used the loader from atmosphere, based a lot of the cfw from atmosphere, so much they copied a Easter egg. But my problem is the fact that Atmosphere follows gpl 2.0. Which requires you to at least credit people your using source code from. But I remember Team Xecutor with their pants down saying that it's all their own code.

You don't seem to be mentally able to recognize the meaning of "to load data". That HOS crashes due to the incorrect relocation of the kips, still does not infringe the fact that they are being loaded.

You guys who are getting upset at the efforts to crack this is kinda funny. Absolutely nothing to stand on to have any reason what so ever to say why this shouldn't happen so interes focus on why the people doing it shouldn't. When they're doing the same thing that they did to the console in the first place.

I'm still trying to figure out how an open-source license is, somehow, more important than Nintendo's licenses. I'm pretty sure there must be a clause somewhere in the Switch's legal mumbo-jumbo that says something like "You can't modify our software to use it in ways we didn't intend!". I don't see anyone complaining when Nintendo's software protection is defeated by homebrew coders...

But, hey. Gotta protect the sanctity of Atmosphere from the evil Team Xecuter.

So how many c++ source lines is that, compared to the number of lines of source that TX wrote themselves?
So according to:

https://github.com/switchbrew/nx-hbloader/tree/master/source

https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/tree/master/stratosphere/loader/source

https://github.com/Atmosphere-NX/Atmosphere/tree/master/stratosphere/fs_mitm/source

https://github.com/CTCaer/hekate/commit/d9dba2b1825c4e99c94c7587bd9230cc1eccf906

nx-hbloader: 383
atm-loader: 5.714
atm-fs-mitm: 2.456
hkt-bdf: 26

"sx os" boot menu: 300
xci to s:fs: 500
DRM: 200

That makes a total of:

8.579 Lines of stolen code
1.000 Lines of written code
