Yes, u wont loose ur CFW when u upgrade to 11.7I have installed Custom Firmware on my 3DS, with Luma and FBI and everything. Not my Nintendo-system wants to make an update, is this safe to do?
Well, you can try holding Select on boot - if it boots then you have the right B9S version for the boot.firm you have, and the config screen will tell you which Luma (and therefore which B9S version). Is there a way to check what version of B9S you have installed, and/or whether it needs to be updated?

Yeah, it just says Luma v9.0 (though I recall the source download file saying 9.0.7).Well, you can try holding Select on boot - if it boots then you have the right B9S version for the boot.firm you have, and the config screen will tell you which Luma (and therefore which B9S version).
If you get an error message, the B9S version is too low, and if you get a perpetual black screen, it's too high. I think.
That means you have B9S 1.2 or 1.3, and are up to date (there's no practical difference between 1.2 and 1.3, 1.3 just has support for more flashcarts for ntrboot).Yeah, it just says Luma v9.0 (though I recall the source download file saying 9.0.7).
but no mention of what level of B9S it is.
I wish to install CFW on an o3ds that is running 11.0.0-4U and a n2ds XL running 11.4.0-37U. I've tried soundhax and oot3dhax on the o3ds and have been given errors from both and oot3dhax give an error on n2ds xl. Without a flashcart, is there a way I can get these both to get CFW?
You can't use SoundHax on the O3DS because you updated it with cartridges from a low version (which doesn't change the Sound app version, and the old one is incompatible).I wish to install CFW on an o3ds that is running 11.0.0-4U and a n2ds XL running 11.4.0-37U. Ahhh shoot, the only flashcart I've got on hand is a 2013 R4 SDHC which doesn't work on current OFW. Thank you for clarifying this because I have seen many posts saying certain things work and certain ones don't all for these 2 OFW.You can't use SoundHax on the O3DS because you updated it with cartridges from a low version (which doesn't change the Sound app version, and the old one is incompatible).
The N2DSXL's firmware is too high.
You'll have to use ntrboot or seedminer on both (or seedminer on one and DSiWare hax on the other).
I've since fixed my problem by myself, and edited the post to reflect this.Try using Luma and see if you still have a problem. If you do, we'll troubleshoot from there.
How are you accessing your emuNAND? Menuhax or A9LH?Hi, I hope I'm posting in the right place. I'm sure my question has been answered before and that I'll get directed 3ds.hacks.guide but I still need some advice. I have a N3DS that is on 9.2 with an unlinked Emunand on 11.2 and ReiNand. I see Luma3DS is the way to go these days.
What would be the most direct way to get on Luma and 11.7 without losing my installs and saved data on my Emunand?
I tried updating my Emunand with Rei to 11.7 and Rei stopped launching, I've restored my Emunand backup to undo this
I'm not too sure. I have a distorted screen followed by selector that shows up when I turn on my 3DS, not sure if that helps indicate? Otherwise how do I check? How are you accessing your emuNAND? Menuhax or A9LH?
That sounds like menuhax. Do the following:I'm not too sure. I have a distorted screen followed by selector that shows up when I turn on my 3DS, not sure if that helps indicate? Otherwise how do I check?
Much appreciated, thank you! I will give it a go.That sounds like menuhax. Do the following:
You won't lose any data.
- Boot up without the SD card then put the SD card in after the home menu shows up
- Go to themes and pick a different theme
- Follow https://3ds.guide/homebrew-launcher-(soundhax) and follow the next page after it etc
- When you get to optional section move emuNAND, follow it
