During Nintendo's shareholder's meeting, where Kimishima stepped down, and a new president of Nintendo was appointed, the former CEO of Nintendo was questioned about the future of the company. Investors were concerned over Nintendo's sudden stock dive after their E3 2018 conference, and questioned if that was all they had in store for their customers. Kimishima responded by stating that Nintendo's full games lineup hadn't been revealed at E3, and that multiple games are scheduled for release during the "year-end shopping battle holiday season". He assured stockholders that now isn't the time to show off those games, and that Nintendo still has surprises ready, and a "strong" Autumn release scheduled planned for the Nintendo Switch.

No, you do not hope that. That is infact the last thing you'd hope for.
Any game that will come out within the year without any kind of announcement, leak or hype is guaranteed to be either a massive mobile-like cashgrab, or a joke minigame that has nothing to do with the core of whatever expectations you will have. Likely mostly outsourced or mostly created by interns.

If they didn't show it at the E3 in which they had absolutely nothing, chances are they did not do that because the very news of its/their existance would end up doing more damage than good. Given how they just showed a title for metroid prime 4 a year ago, I'm sure if it was a relevant game they would have done the same especially in this lackluster year.
Imagine metroid federations but with less production value, marketing value put into it, and a more rushed development. That's the tier of the products you're looking at.

True, True. Folks like this fool (Blackb0nd) constantly bashed the switch from its announcement way back, until just march this year. He could not understand why the switch was a success and tried to make every excuse in the book. Until finally, he was forced to admit in a very round about way that the switch was a huge success and since then he has stopped his regular switch bashing. Nowadays he roams twitter bashing Nintendo fans and trying desperately to damage control.
