Is here somebody that has had used Layered FS offline whilst on 4.1.0, then cleared their logs also at 4.1.0, updated and went online with no ban afterwards?

I dun goofed since I didn't make a full NAND backup back before I used Layered. Only a System and Boot backup.
Well now I need to see if I maybe restore only the system/boot part, get the console to factory settings and try to start clean again.
After that, I'm gonna update to 5.1.0 and make a full dump, from where I could restore after using Homebrew/Layered or SX(once it arrives...frickin waiting since half a month by now, despite that I've orderd 17 of May - don't buy at shop01media)

ok so from the moment you used a homebrew it is over ?
because from the beginning of hekate / atmosphere I remember there was this Switch "appstore" where you can find a lot of homebrew... but to access this appstore you need to go online.
I never used layeredfs/sx os/log delete/autoRCM but I feel like I'm gonna get banned just for using Atmosphere online to access the appstore :)

@JackTheFroster If you must know what the fuse question is about, there is a way to update your system firmware without burning fuses. If you don't know what the fuses are, they are hardware modifications made to the system every few system updates or so as an anti-downgrade mechanism. I assume those who don't know how to bypass fuses don't have a fuse mismatch.

So are all bans 5.x+? Did a quick check and it doesn't look like there are any 4.x bans. Or am I mistaken?
All current reports are being made on 5.X because its the latest firmware. The biggest reason I postulate that there are no bans on 4.X is because when it was the latest firmware, there were no hacks that could be performed on it. Now that we do have hacks for 4.X, it is not the latest firmware anymore so people cannot be banned for being on 4.X. After all, you cannot check if you are banned or not unless you're on the latest firmware.

OP the URL is actually receive-lp1.dg.srv.nintendo.net
Eh, I felt that most people when answering that question would know what I'm asking for since it won't work without receive in the beginning but I guess it couldn't hurt to be more accurate in case someone wants to be a smart aleck

There was some people in another thread that thought the URL was that as well and were wondering why nothing was being blocked from it.

Hmm, this thread isn't really supposed to be a "How to avoid bans" type of thread. Its more of a "How are people being banned?" kind of thing. There's actually a thread in the tutorials section that details a lot of ways to mitigate bans so I feel less of a need. Maybe I ought to post a link here for completeness' sake. Anywho, I've already updated all of the questionnaires to make sure people are blocking the right URL.

It's cool and I know what thread you are speaking of which was also using the original URL without the "receive-" portion before being edited, I actually left it unblocked myself because I don't think it will help mitigate any bans either way.

Additional Comments: As you can see, I constantly go online while using hacks and layeredFS (only for odyssey mods which disable online for the game, I was accidentally online with an old version of the hacks though) and I also use emulators and get crashes often too. After all of this, I believe that the frequent buyer theory is true as I have bought SEVERAL games (16, not even including DLC) and extra controllers, and at the same time have done nothing to cover my tracks. I seriously think that the theory has some weight built into it, especially seeing as Nintendo MAY (unlikely) also spare users who don't cover up their tracks well as they can confirm they aren't using any illegal stuff.

This is the first time I've ever seen someone so reckless and not be banned. I've seen some people do the complete opposite of this and get banned. Urgh, the frequent buyer theory sounds bogus but it does explain a lot of things...

Well it's all for science! It's also clearly worked out in the long run since even though I have been doing this for the past 2 months, nothing! My goal was to really add some weight to the frequent buyer theory and possibly my own (being that if you let Nintendo see what hacks you are using(EDIT: As long as they aren't malicious or illegal), they might not ban you) and I think I did my job. Really hope we can start seeing some more developments, and remember, the "randomness" to bans is almost always separated by the buyer theory.

You use your main account or a dummy one when hacking?
