To expand on the above, if it is possible to just install b9s over the top of fastboot (I'm not certain it is, and certainly don't use any DSiWare method as that could brick your console) then follow the below
Here's what to do:
  1. Get FBI.3ds from https://github.com/steveice10/fbi/releases and put it on your red card microSD
  2. Get JKSM.cia from https://github.com/J-D-K/JKSM/releases and put it on your console's SD card
  3. Boot Gateway sysNAND mode, run FBI and use it to install JKSM (inside FBI, open the menu item called SD, navigate to JKSM.cia and press A on it and install it)
  4. Follow https://gbatemp.net/threads/importing-gateway-saves-to-cia-games.425743/ to export all your games (don't have to import the saves yet)
  5. Follow https://3ds.guide and when it gives you the option to move emuNAND, do that too
  6. Follow the guide on the OP of the Noob Paradise thread on how to install freeShop, or, convert your 3ds format games to cia by looking at https://3ds.guide/godmode9-usage and install them with FBI
  7. Import your saves to your installed games with JKSM
  8. Put your Gateway card in a drawer and don't look at it again

My question was all about that. How to set up a cfw with a chainloader (if im right) to boot up directly to gw emunand in 11.7 this will help a lot of people and gateway will be fully usable again, and with a hitkey to boot into cfw.
And its possible but after i installed the luma an not sure on the nexte steps.
1. Boot into emunand
2. Run the sys updater.cia with the files 11.7 in the sd
3. Reboot and done
Is this correct? What is the step by step correct
If i get it right i should write a complete guide from the beginning
Since the 11.7 seems to be the last update a final guide will give us gateway fully working at boot up on latest firm

If you used fastboot it is a bit tricky. If you did, and you can't find a relevant forum thread, I'd suggest making a new thread with all the info you can think of. I'm not personally sure of what the best way to do it is.

If you are just using normal A9LH, then just use this guide to backing up your saves (if they are important to you.) From there use this guide to upgrading to B9S
If you are using Gateway's fastboot, then I personally suggest avoiding any complicated method and just using NTRBoot to install B9S
https://3ds.hacks.guide/ntrboot
Although this might be better suited for it's own thread

Thanks, I will post a new thread then.

Is this the correct way to update me emunand? If something goes wrong can i restore it with a backup using godmode?

I think I do have fastboot because my new 3ds boots directly to GW. In the instructions there, it will render my Gateway useless? Is that correct?
I have an r4 ds cart for NTR booth though.

Yes that's right, that's why it is important to back up your saves first. You can enable Gateway later if you want to keep using it (you'll be able to boot up by holding Up on the D-pad).

By installing only certain system titles, and not installing the ones that Gateway isn't compatible with.
I saw an 11.7 update for Gateway online, I guess this is a franken firmware for gateway.
I'll do the update one by one then. I won't have to transfer my saves anymore if I'm going to use Gateway after I convert to B9S so I'll skip that step.
Reading up on the guide, there is an a9lh to b9s method there, with the use of the secret sector. I am not just sure if it is applicable for me because I'm using Gateway and not Vanilla Luma.
Don't really want to make a mistake here and brick my unit.

Billyme, I updated all of my units to 11.6 frankenfirmware months ago, I did not realize there is now an 11.7 one.. All games work on the 11.6 I used though, not sure why the 11.7 one is better now.. then followed some general instructions Mike from this thread graciously sent me, I moved from A9LH to BS, and got all of them with Luma installed and autobooting into GW emunand from power on (what I preferred) To boot into Luma, was a specific button on power on. I hard modded all of my 3d's a long time ago, and just took a backup of the NAND's just in case I screwed things up. Did not wind up needing to restore, and my boot rate with BS into GW seems to be 100%.

I would always take a backup of the NAND (with my usb to sd card hardmod) any time I messed with them, just in case I needed to revert.

That's the over simplified version but that's about it.. CIA files go in SD:\updates\
Just to sumup. I followed the guide from 3ds.guide i have now cfw on 11.7 and my emunand is on 9.4.0. I boot into gateway and use my flashcard as usual. To update the emunand i will boot into gateway and copy the file with gw 11.7
The problem is that i cannot find a way to run cia file from emunand so i will be able to run sysupdater.cia
So how i will run sysupdater from emunand??????

Probably be a good idea just to move away from Emunand and Gateway, and start using Sysnand.

You can use FBI.3ds from your red card.

No, you're running a franken firmware. A lot of people in this thread have already told you this. (You can restore a backup though.)
