I tried using the update method of placing the .tar in the .update folder, but I got the black screen bug on my first boot. I gave it about 2 minutes before I decided to reboot and try again, but I got a message that the update failed, it attempted to recover, but now get an error that it couldn't mount /dev/system.

Will attempt a clean flash in a bit, but I think the lesson here is if you get the black screen bug on your first boot after placing the update in your storage, might be best to let your Switch sit for about 10 minutes as it's probably updating, we just don't have visual.

Read the FAQ. Black screen on boot is either shut down immediately and try again, or wait for everything to be done while the screen is down and shut down and try again.

New build uploaded : Lakka-Switch.aarch64-2.1-devel-20180603204254-r79-g5502485

What's new :
  • Another SDMMC stability patch
  • This build contains the soon-to-be 4.17 kernel with WIP sound support (doesn't work) - if may have unwanted side effects, let me know if something is wrong I'll upload another build with the old kernel back
How to update : https://lakka-switch.github.io/documentation/update.html
so is the sound in this update?

Actually, the sound driver is being worked on by tardyp, a fail0verflow member, along with q66, a member of the #tegra dev community. The goal is to have a working sound driver for both the Switch and the Pixel C.

However, he stated that this was a huge task and that they were moving slowly. I wouldn't expect something anytime soon, but now you know that it will eventually come. The USB Host driver may come with it, too.

:O You'd be legend if you got Citra working! The good news is it looks like there's a lot of cross-development that can benefit our cause.

Is it possible for our current implementation to read the battery? Understood that we don't have an elegant fix for the battery desync yet, though knowing the current charge while in Lakka would be a great start.

If the battery driver worked, a battery icon would appear in the top right corner of the screen. So, the driver needs to be fixed (like it needs to be fixed to prevent decalibration).

As for me, I've gotten to a point where I can't go further alone anymore - I will focus on small improvements like a backlight control, or making some disabled cores work, like citra for instance.
Please don’t forget dolphin core. We really need it and there’s already bounty for it.

I don't think anyone can reliably answer this. If your goal is to charge your switch while in Lakka OS, I just start up one of the Metroids for the GBA and let it loop the intro video.

I just don't want my 300 dollar tablet to be damaged, when I could've easily, you know don't

What is the reason audio still doesn't work? There's gotta be some big hurtle in the way since it would be already dealt with if it was simple.
