I've probably said this before, but I think it would have more visibility stickied in this section instead since it seems to be the only one people post in.

I've heard people say the search function is crap but for me it usually works well so I dunno.

I don't have a problem with people getting help here it's just the ones you can tell don't want to make any effort at all.

I'm about to buy a PS4 Pro, a used one. When they were to check the fw version they accidently downloaded the update file for 5.50. Is there any way to start the PS4 and erase the update file? some kind of "secure mode" or something?
Thanks!!

Im not an expert, but booting into safe mode and wiping all data could work :)
May they are able to try it?

Edit: heres an link for more information about the safe mode: https://ccm.net/faq/35902-how-to-boot-your-playstation-4-into-safe-mode

@4nders as ling as console is on 5.05/4.55 and can boot up and run hen, should be fine to ftp in and remove.

If not then a full wipe with REC pup of the current FW (preferably 5.05 max) should sort that but add alazifs dns at the top of the AIO guide to avoid nag.

Yes, just locate the directory theyre stored in (and let me know as I dont know ehere they are), and copy them out.
re: screenshots... They're in

/user/av_contents/photo/NPXS20001

With a subdirectory per game/app (by CUSA number) then a subdirectory (3 digit hex name) per screenshot (date+time filename).

eg: one of my Journey screenshots:

/user/av_contents/photo/NPXS20001/CUSA02172/3f7/20180605_183955_00804915.jpg

Each screenshot also has a corresponding .dat file, plus an .ext file if it was a trophy, same filename as the .jpg

Brilliant thank you for the info!

Alright! so I bagged a PS4 CUH 1200. It's on firmware 4.06. Run me through what I need to do. Links to Update files are appreciated :)

Edit: I've run into an issue. I tried installing 5.05 and it's giving me an error on safe mode. it says failed to install update from usb, install firmware 4.71 or higher???

Sorry, have to ask it since I don't get it from what i read. When to use Fake pkg and when a normal one? What's the difference? Lets say for example between an fake pkg game and one directly generated from psndl?
