Hacking WIP Been working on a little something.

Are you interested in a modchip that doesn't require jigs, button presses or NAND corruption?

Hi guys. I'm developing an internally mounted modchip for the switch.
My goal is to launch directly into RCM without having to corrupt your NAND or push buttons/use jigs. I will make it completely self contained and open source when i finish writing the software. I'm no team rebugged, but i like doing hardware and wanted to make a completely hands off and self contained modchip, since those are features i have yet to see. The design is aimed at people with some soldering experience.
I will use this thread to post updates and ask/answer questions.

This looks interesting.
Do you provide gerber files / shematics? I work at an electo manufacturing company and we produce pcb's
Or isn't it open source?.
It is open source. I'm not in this for profit and I will definitely provide all schematics, source code and gerbers when I have it at least semi functional. I am getting some prototypes manufactured right now, but the next month is going to be busy with exams so the amount of work i can do is limited. But if someone really wants the gerbers, i can upload them when i am confident in the designs functionality. It just wouldn't do much without software :)

It means I need a KEY outside switch?

Which chip are you intending to use?

ATSAMD21E, since some nicely functional fusee gelee code exists for it. It's also very cheap and has a lot of great features like usb-host built in. Another plus is that I have already worked with atmel chips a couple times, so writing code should be a bit faster. Haven't done much ARM though, that should be interesting.

I had the same idea for such kind of modchip which is auto pressing the buttons or optional with button pressure which activated the modchip but I’m not sure it will be required for a long time or someone will find a software solution for a coldboot exploit like B9S on the 3DS very soon.
In my opinion this kind of modchip is the best solution for now because if the modchip stop working your switch will still boot into horizon OS

@Goseph
Awesome project! That's what I was waiting for.

I hope your modchip will also be able to trigger RCM and send some payload while sitting in the dock when the switch is powered up.
