Hey guys so long story short, I got a WiiU that was already hacked. I've done PSP and 3DS stuff before in the past but since it already came hacked I figured sure. The thing is I didn't know the process of hacking it until after I bought it and I reinstalled Brain Age which now takes the place of Haxchi.....I haven't touched BA/Haxchi at all since just cause I'm scared of bricking. What do I do? I've only been using the WiiU for Netflix since I can't or am scared to access Haxchi. Help please

Ok so we need some more information

Was the Wiiu hacked with haxchi or was it cold boot haxchi??

Have you switched the WiiU off then on again??

If so is it still working??

If it does switch back on then it was just Haxchi and not cold boot Haxchi

Did you reinstall a legitimate version of Brain age from the eshop?? This one is very important to know before we proceed.

Also what firmware is you Wiiu currently on?

Thank you so much for helping me, I really appreciate it. So its not CBHC because I think that is the autoboot one? I have turned it off and on. The WiiU still works but the only thing that I've done is watch Netflix and it works fine. I haven't tried any of the games because I usually have to use Haxchi to turn on CFW before I play the games. I reinstalled Brain Age from the WiiUSBhelper thing.

Right so because you no longer have a legitimate version of brain age so haxchi will not work. What you need to do is uninstall brain age and then goto the eshop and redownload Brain age from there using the original nnid it was purchased on. If the original nnid was deleted then you are going to have to buy the game again before we can set up haxchi again. Once you have done that let me know then we can proceed to the next steps.

Ok so I uninstalled brain age and Haxchi reappeared. Is it safe to use now? Was that really all it took?

Nope that was way too simple. Anyway lets just see what happens go ahead and click on haxchi and see if it loads (im pretty sure it won't but dont worry all you will get is an error message)

ok the message that popped is that the software cannot be used the NNID used to purchase the software has been deleted and its telling me to purchase it again. So I'm guessing its reading Haxchi as Brain Age?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Do I need to delete Haxchi? Because I can't purchase Brain Age in the eshop because it says its already on this console

Yep its because of the non legitimate version of brain age. Ok so goto system settings then data management then delete haxchi. Then we need to get the legit version of braib age from the eshop.

Well there's an error code 105-3687, it says data is corrupted?

Ok just seen this give me a second to think what is going on here.

Ok I know exactly what happened when you installed brain age again it installed a fake ticket (what does the ticket do well we will save that explanation for another time) when you deleted haxchi/brain age the fake ticket does not get removed from the wiiu so it is still showing up so we need to manually remove this. Give me 5 mins to get links for the stuff we now need ok.

Do I need to delete the save data for Haxchi? Is that why?

Nope that won't really make a difference. What files do you already have on your sd card? And what fireware are you on?
I'm on 5.5.2 U and files? On the SD card I have 4 folders, haxchi, WiiU, install and private with something called fw.

He'll probably have to use the browser exploit to load mocha in order to delete the fake ticket if that's what's going on.
I've been reading around and it honestly seems like I have to delete the fake ticket to download brain age again. I just don't know how to go about doing it. Thanks everyone for your help. Its a little overwhelming

Yeah I'm completely lost. I've been reading around and feel like I need to delete the ticket, redownload BA from the eshop and then reinstall Haxchi. I just don't know how to do it.

Something to take note for later on down the line is that WiiuUSBhelper is no longer available and you would most likely need to use https://gbatemp.net/threads/a-simple-gui-for-funkiiu-funkii-ui.446853/

If you want it really simple...buy another DS game on your wii which is compatible with haxchi and use this one to install haxchi but NEVER use a DS game you from other sources to install haxchi or your wii U will brick

technically you will only brick if you install CBHC with normal haxchi it would just give you an error

It is fixable, but walking you through this is kind of beyond my scope. Maybe these threads can get you going in the right direction. Good luck and maybe someone will come along who can better assist you.

Alternatively, as mentioned above, purchasing another Haxchi compatible GBA VC title other than Brain Age would be a much simpler solution.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
