Didnt want to open a thread for this.

Is there a way or a particular USB hub that lets me play the game in handgheld mode but also have HDMI output to record with a capture card?

I need to use the switch's screen to view but also be able to record with my elgato.

Kinda hate 2 monitor setup... switching back and forth is annoying.

Not possible I'm afraid. Even if a future hack prevented the screen from blacking out when in docked mode, the Switch simply isn't powerful enough to drive both screens simultaneously.

Hello again. I just received my 3d printed jig from an ebay seller, and Ive also received my ANKER USB C to A cable. My firmware on my switch is 4.0.1

I'd like to know exactly what I need, and how to begin hacking my switch. All the information I've been finding is sporadic. So I'm hoping I can hack my console as it is right now, with the materials that I have. Please help? Thanks! :-)

Hello, I'm new to the switch hacking scene, I have a switch on 3.0.1 I'm able to get into RCM and run payloads but when using hekate_ipl I'm unable to boot into the cfw state to run unsigned code, it says the hekate_ipl.ini fails to load, when I try to launch the fermware without a SD card with out atmosphere it just gives me a colored screen. Is my fermware not compatible? If not when will there be support for 3.0.1?

You need a USB A to USB C cable, a method for booting into RCM (a paper clip, screwdriver, jig, etc) the payload you want to run, and a computer or your Android phone.

If your booting it from your phone, you will also need an OTG cable. Once you have all that, download this app, select the payload you want to load, and connect your switch to your phone. (it should already be in RCM mode) the payload should run after you confirm you want to connect the switch to your phone

any tips for the tin foil method?
Try to use some tape to keep the tin foil in place.

Thanks for the heads up! On a side note.

What is a payload? Was just reading that everyone's payload.bin is different?

How can i find my own payload.bin or how can i get it?
Payloads are .bin files. Its the malicious code that we can tell the Switch to run when it otherwise wouldn't. These are files that people have to make in order to do something like dump save files, run a CFW, or anything else.

Hekate has support for 4.x and 5.x for the time being. Support for 3.x is being worked on.

Want to make a NAND dump (for bricks, etc).

So to be simple, if i want to have a NAND dump in case anything happens to my Switch, what parts should i dump? Do i need the user part?

I have a question, is the future softmod boot for 4.1 be tethered or untethered? I tried to research this but only found out they will come far later than <=3.0.

I;m on 4.1.0 trying to use the Hekate port to lauch homebrew. However, every time I open the photo album app it crashes. What am I doing wrong? I have all the files from the github in the right spot

4.1.0 Hekate https://github.com/nx-python/hekate-ipl-4x/releases/tag/v1.0.

    Quick question
  2. 11:29 AM - ShawnTRods:
if I set my switch's location to australia while setting it up first time. if i wanna purchase stuff from e-shop, can I use my UK credit card? as its registered to a UK address
  3. 11:29 AM - ShawnTRods:
I need to set it to AU because of time zone and faster release time for some games

I have just gotten the left red neon joycon to pair with my right red neon (supplied with the system) and the "shades" of redish/pink are noticably different. It's like the left one is much more "neon" coated. Is this normal? It doesn't look like the perfect match I thought it would. Its like a shade or two off.

Not my pic but you kinda see what I mean..

Sorry if this was asked before and I searched but could not find anything

Question: im on 5.0.2 and ive gotten the payload to run and everything and played some FBA but after the system resets/turns/crashes, when i go to boot the loader in the gallery menu it wont boot. the only way ive gotten it to boot is to re-run the payload(connecting my jumper and connecting my phone to my switch) am I missing something?

Hi all, question probably been asked but wanted it told to me like a 5 year old.

If I were to run Fusee today on my... 3.0.whatever Switch (haven't updated in a long while now)

What can I run comfortably on my Switch?

TLDR: Looking for a compiled list of apps/OSs I can run on Fusee'd Switch and any guides to them.

Be careful with the paper clip. Although using it once or twice to boot into RCM won't damage the pins on the Switch, more and more users have reported wear-and-tear on their pins after using the paper clips multiple times. Booting the payload is safe to do, but the process of getting to that is not without risk, yet.
Can you help me on how to make a backup/nand? Ive done backups on android phones. But ive never done anything on Nintendo devices. Ive got a 3DS also modded but ive never done a backup.

I suppose so? Credit cards aren't tied to the region where its address is. I've flown to Dubai with my American credit card and it worked just fine. I believe the same should be true for a UK card no matter what region your Switch is.

Where did you get it from? Does it function any differently? Does it slide into the Switch rail or Joy-Con grip fine? IMO, I don't really see the difference nor have I heard of there being a difference, but depending on where you got it from, there may be a chance.

Sorry, I am not familiar with final burn alpha, but I think you might get a better response if you post in that thread :)

That would be in the Nintendo Switch Mega Thread. However, comfortably is the operative word here and a lot of those programs are still works-in-progress so be prepared to troubleshoot.

Go to this thread and follow the instructions. https://gbatemp.net/threads/rcm-payload-hekate-mod-raw-full-nand-backup.502604/ You will need at least a 64 GB SD card. Unfortunately, I cannot help you any further than that because I have not tried dumping my NAND yet as I don't have that big of an SD Card. I am waiting for more useful tools to come out before I do so.

Is there any way that I, as a regular user, can dump my switch carts?
AFAIK, you can only dump on Switches that can run Pegaswitch (Firmware 3.0 and below) using the script from this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/sciresm-releases-file-to-dump-carts.499306/ There are no other publicly available methods of dumping games ATM.

I'm on 3.01, what homebrew can I run? I'd like to back up my nand and do game saves. Thanks.
NAND dumping is not implemented on 3.x (for some reason) but an all other firmwares. You can try utilizing this tool for dumping saves: https://gbatemp.net/threads/release...imple-save-manager-for-3ds-and-switch.503899/

Not for online shopping. It requires an address thats registered to that particular country.

After searching a bit, I figured, the only way to buy e-shop games is using e-shop cards on third party websites and add the credit to your nintendo account.
