Hacking seedminer (single system DSiWare injection)

Ok fam, it's about time we have "the talk". its nothing about where babies come from i swear ;p

Any day now, Nintendo is going to issue an update and block dsiware injection!
This means no more getting CFW from seedminer! (these usually drop on Mondays at 5pm PT)

If you're on the fence about this but haven't commited to it, here's what you need to right now to be able to still do it if an update drops. In order of importance:
1. Buy a compatible dsiware game and download it. I always recommend EA sudoku if you don't have a game on that list already.
2. Get your LFCS. Go to this thread and post your friend code. You might as well also post your id0 as well so a friendly temper can do your brute force and get you your movable.sed. But the important thing is the LFCS file. Once an update hits, you likely won't be able to use the friends service without updating, and that will probably spoil your chance of easily getting your LFCS. The mii qr method will still be there for all firmwares, but it's more tricky, time consuming, and difficult.

I looked at this exploit some time ago, and I thought: "very clever exploit! And very cool math here! But the process is so complicated, and not everyone has a good gpu, even if there are a bunch of guys that are willing to help mining other people seeds... But the msed are too few, the graphic is full of holes, and I don't know if there are any dedicated users that can help to simplify the process and make it faster and easier... "
And then I come back, and I see a community of people who have set up their own scripts, made online services ,simplified the process, shared their machine-time with the help of an automated system, and even made a guide so that anyone with can buy a dsiware and get cfw in less than a hour!!!
Guys, really, you're fantastic, this is the proof that great things can be done when everyone collaborates; I think this isn't only the best exploit for the 3ds, but also this is a victory for this community

Sighax is useless without an entrypoint.

I like to use this analogy: a car engine is seen as the most important (vital) part of automobile. You could successfully argue that it's a lot more important than the battery. However, the car goes nowhere when either is missing. So they're really equally vital.

Nintendo normally releases updates on mondays, the patch has been in the beta or something,

As every week since I made that post originally (feb 26, 1 month after release). That's why I'm giving up the practice. I only said I'd continue the warnings through April.
The expected update never came. (watch it come next week just to make me look extra stupid )

My guess is that Nintendo has been focusing their security personnel on switch since that system is their current and future big bread winner. Once that situation settles down (hah) they may put a few interns on the 3ds and maybe an update will come of it.

Well they can't and won't fix everything, but they can at least make it harder to hack.

The DSiware injection, especially, should be an easy fix. That would end getting cfw from seedminer.
But even a small fix requires putting the entire console through a QR approval process, and that might be what's holding them back. It's expensive, and maybe the few cfw systems they prevent don't justify the cost to them.

Anyway, probably enough speculation from me tonight. As usual, Nintenodo's reality is likely far different from what I imagine.

which tutorial and what error message are you getting?
If "it just closes" - launch it form the command line by holding shift and right-clicking in the same folder as seedminer, click "Launch command prompt here" or "Launch power shell window here", then type
py -3 seedminer_launcher3.py <whatever arguments you wanna use>

He does have a point, though. You do risk getting banned by installing CFW and it's something you do need to consider before doing it.

EDIT: Solved! Solution: Put the GM9 folder from the GodMode9 zip back on the SD

Hey all, i recently hacked my 3DS with this guide. It worked perfectly, but after screwing around with FreeShop I corrupted my SD card (I don't know how). Note that my 3DS does not boot into the normal OS anymore (GodMode9 still works, not sure what else works.) So I put my NAND backup I made in Section VII - Backup Essential Files (from 3DShacksguide) back on the SD card. Now I boot into GodMode9, begin trying to restore the backup with instructions from "GodMode9 Usage" (from 3ds.hacks.guide), then realize that I don't have any scripts to restore the backup because I wiped the SD card.

So, i'm kind of in a stuck spot right now because I don't know how to get the restore script back on GodMode9.

Any help please?

Just redownload the Godmode zip and place the gm9 folder back in the SD

Okay, so yesterday I flashed my o3DSxl using hardmod.
And I really think thats much easyer than seedminer to do it.

Open up.. 4 Wires.. Make urself an sdCard Adapter.. plug it in.. Aaand.. just read and write.. easy..

All the Methods should be considered.

BUT: If somebody wants his seed to be generated.. I can help out with my 1080.
