lol just wait for software based exploit, atleast if you're on lower than 5.0.0.

I believe:

"1. Ensure the Switch cannot boot off its eMMC. The most straightforward way to to this is to open the back cover and remove the socketed eMMC board; corrupting the BCT or bootloader on the eMMC boot partition would also work."

works no matter what FW you have. So load fusee gelee, run the payload that wipes out the bootloader or BCT and never have to worry about the home and volume button again.

The switch would appear dead and you'd have to tether it to make it do anything.

please dont bend those pins. As an experienced pin deblender of CPU pins (fucked up work by coworkers), i can assure you, u can only bend metal a few times. IT WILL BREAK. Not the first time, not the second, but it will eventually break

I had my CPU socket uncovered for the better part of a day and my roommate suggested brushing it. It sounds stupid because obviously the CPU socket pins are very easy to damage. I didn't realize how easily damaged. It was such a light brush and I barely touched it. I bent something like 8 pins. I saw a video that suggested using a credit card to sort of comb and align the pins. Two years later it still works. So it was stupid how I damaged the pins. However, it was some very tiny bending.

i know.. Done it many times. So many times, that i saw a padron (don't know if this is the word in English). And it was simple. If i failed to bend at first, the second bend would be a greater risk, and so on. I think i could never bend a fourth time, it would break :)

It was kind of like blending. Making the 8 or so bent pins blend in. What was this thread about? Oh yeah... Seriously, why bend the joy-con pins? The fuck is wrong with people? Just ground pin 10 on the console. It's the last damn pin. If you can't manage that then just wait.

I think the word you're looking for is "pattern".

...how long until we get a 3D printer model for a jig that you just thread wire through?

It's going to be a pain in the ass to do that anyway. Use a single wire for now, and in the future there will be more permanent solutions via SOFTWARE that you likely will only have to use the wire successfully ONCE. I don't understand why people want a 3D printed jig, let alone pay for one, when all you need is a wire! Or a paperclip if you have patience! I don't get why people are taking apart their Joy-Cons. It's crazy.
