Hi, I have a switch 1 v2 (hac-001 (001)). It has a weird problem that the right joycon stay connected but becomes unresponsive for a few seconds. The left one performs well and the wifi signal is also good, so I doubt it's the wifi ic. There is no connection drop.

Also attached to switch both works perfectly.

And i have already tried different joycons.

Its really confusing. Any suggestions?

Update: this switch has low range. Like 2 meter, the joycons works. Beyond that left works, but right is iffy.

Tested these joycons on another switch V1 and same location, and it had a range of about 6 to 7 meters.

I'm wondering if it's the antennas; There are 2 antennas white and black, not sure which one is for joycons. Or any other issues?

Update 2: The white wire antenna which is for the bluetooth, however there is no tutorial on how to replace it. Do we need to remove the screen, I mean it is going into the body.

Or could there be a faulty resistor or cap that could be lowering signal strength. If anybody has a schematic it would be helpful

Sometimes the cable gets damaged when people try to reassemble the Switch.

You could try attaching a new bluetooth antenna first to see if that improves the situation.
If you place the antenna outside of the metal casing at the back, it will probably also work fine.

iFixit has a manual for the V1, which is almost the same as the V2.
In both cases, you need to remove the screen which is one huge drama as it is glued to the casing.

You might consider getting a full screen assembly on AliExpress or eBay.

Have you also tried completely removing the joycons?
Some information is stored on the Switch for the joycons and completely removing them also removes that information too.
Sometimes this fixes issues, most of the time it doesn't.

I haven't tried removing the joycons, I will try that seems to be the simplest way. But i did try a different joycon and it was the same. In this experiment i learned that the left has more range than right by about 1 to 2meters.

I had changed tempered glass and did press hard to remove bubbles on the corners, maybe that caused some damage to the antenna. I don't have spare antenna for these but will try some aftermarket antenna and see the effect.

@thesjaakspoiler I saw the ifixit tutorial, thanks for the link. I'm not gonna do that, there is a whole lot of work and chances of error, for my skills.

Also tried the disconnect all controllers and repairing process, still the same.

I don't have spare antenna for switch, or rather any antenna. But I do have these ipex wires, is there anyway I can make an antenna? Does soldering the signal wire to some metal piece do the job?

Update: I managed to find an antenna and the switch is behaving same like before. The left joycon has almost tripple the range of the right.
Have tried 3 sets of joycons all are originals.

I have come to the conclusion whatever is the issue it's on the switch mainboard but it's really confusing as to why just the right has issues.
