Kernel exploit doesn't automatically mean that the bootloader is out. It's the reason why you need to load the exploit again on 4.05/4.55 if you turn off your console.

PS3 has a Dualboot FW.

Problem with the PS4 is is that only a portion gets stored on the NAND.
The rest gets stored on the HDD.
Even if you have a "emunand" it'll conflict with other data.
PS3 NOR have most of the OS on the hard drive too... but "dual boot" doesn't mean what it usually means: it's a CFW with no update verification as the only patch, so that you can go back to a "real" CFW just by updating to one instead of downgrading/ps3xploit

A Dualboot FW as in 1 HDD contains a CFW and another HDD has a OFW.

It might not work like that if the system files take up alot of data.Either that or you cant just simply emulate a clone of the system files without some sort of exploit that allows emulation through the ps3's hardware. It would need to be built into the cfw like luma i think.Mabe there is somthing that the wiiu uses thats related to a emunand or rednand that can be done to both the ps3 and ps4 without much effort.

Maybe changing/patching/dumping the bootloader can be a thing. İf it does, you can simply make emunand/rednand. But practically, dumping the bootrom is much much harder than the making emunand/rednand.
*welp*

To be frank we dont know what devs are working on. An emunand isnt impossible but i fail to see much use for it outside of tampering with things average users simply shouldnt tamper with.

That actually makes me wonder why it was only Nintendo consoles that got emulated NAND's. Probably because the OS was hard wired into the main board on a separate chip? I don't know much about the PS4 but as a guess, I'm pretty sure the PS4 and PS3 store their operating systems on the replaceable storage drive since you have to reinstall the FW when you replace it, and maybe flashes something on the main board each ascending FW to prevent downgrading. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Im guessing because no one thought about doing it at the time since gateway i think invented it first, then came palatine which was the first free cfw without a flashcard that could run emunand on the sd,which where steping stones to the 3ds's cfw evolution to b9s.

The Wii had one too. You could even dump the NAND from BootMii, which is why I was thinking it was because of the fact that the OS was stored on an encrypted chip that was flashable when decrypted. So if someone really wanted to make an emulated OS for PS4, you would probably need a portable hard drive that's the same size as the internal hard disk in the system. So an "emuNAND" of a 2TB PS4 would need a 2TB USB drive always plugged in. If the drive was removed, it'd fall back to the exploitable system version I'm guessing.
