That is normal, you need a method for recording audio directly, easiest way is to get an auxiliary cable and record using either Audacity or OBS.

I have OBS but my question is..

I have the program (Snicker) currently running as we speak.
I hear no audio coming to my headphones from the program.

That's normal, Snickerstream, nor any other wireless streaming app supports audio, as the N3DS can only handle so much, if you want to record audio you need to conect the 3DS to your computer via a male to male auxiliary cable, they are pretty cheap, I'll admit tho, it makes recording a little bit more complicated.

I've figured as much.
Thank you for your time in getting in contact with me!

Okay so..
My previous problem is in the process (bought a male to male auxiliary cable)
But when I go to play a game, I get a black screen (both screen) everytime.

So I turn off snickerstream and re-run the application once more, it still does the same problem and I'm not sure what to do at this point..
could anyone somehow help me in this situation I'm having?

Yeah I seem to be having the same problem as Tokyo Doll.

Screen record perfectly fine when on the home menu as seen here:

zoY4Ria.jpg

But then when I start up any game, the 3DS splash screen shows but then the screen goes black.
(Pressing the home button allows recording again, I've tried the NFC patch thing as well)

Any help would be appreciated.
Btw I love the program so far, frame rates have been far better then previous programs I've tried.

Are you using a game with the same region as your 3DS? I think that breaks NTR, have you tried with other games as well?

So I finally got my SnickerStream to start but..
There is no audio playing from the program of Snickerstream connected to my NEW 2DS..

Does anyone perhaps have the same problem or has a solution to this? Because I plan on streaming with Snickerstream.

Got a spare mic slot on your rig? Buy one of these.
SnickerStream doesn't produce sound anyway.

Yeah all my games were broke like that and all the correct region. I also noticed when NTR was active, that closing the 3DS wouldn't allow it to wake up when opened without restarting system.

I just decided to delete NTR as it was more trouble than it was worth. Thanks for the help though! :)

Yes my laptop has a mic port and I have a headset connect to my Blue Yeti that is connected by USB in my Laptop.
I bought a Male to Male cable 2 days ago and will be getting it in the mail by the 3rd of March.

Hello, I have a small question regarding my 3ds. I have custom firmware installed and everything and I can play some games online with no difficulties but there is one slight problem, for some reason it does not let me play with friends. I tend to get error code 018-0515 on smash and in monster hunter I get another error which i forgot the code for it. I try solving this a lot of times so i can play with friends but no luck... I also try to play on for fun in smash4 3ds but that also gives me an error i can only play for glory mode which is the serious mode, which i don't mind... but i wish i could access every feature. any help with this? any solution? please help.

Well, I'm back and let me apologize straight away for the lack of updates. I had quite a lot of things happening in real life including a period where I was down due to some bad stuff happening on my side, so I really felt I had to take a break and get my bearings back. Luckily everything's been sorted out again so I can work on Snickerstream once more.

I have already added some stuff to the code, mainly a feature that allows Snickerstream to whitelist itself in Windows Firewall if ran as admin and an update warner (which can be toggled off). I haven't committed the changes yet because I want to test them out a bit more before releasing them to the public but you can expect an update soon. I've also made a tool which is essentially a NTR Remoteplay Simulator (currently private, but it might eventually be released). It's designed to simulate a 3DS streaming a screen via NTR as closely to the real thing as possible. It currently serves no real purpose to a common user except for some basic troubleshooting, however developers might find it useful: for example it will speed up Snickerstream's development (I won't have to power up my 3DS and boot NTR everytime I have to test something) and it might be VERY useful to test multiple 3DS streaming on the same machine if I'll ever find a way to do so.

One last thing: I don't know when they'll be ready but I'm also planning to add quick startup and troubleshooting guides to Snickerstream's wiki. I'll post a link here when they're ready, and I also hope you'll find them helpful!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'm no graphics designer and Snickerstream still doesn't have an icon, so if anyone wants to make one then feel free to do so! You'll be given credit for it, of course!

Snickerstream v0.90b has been released! There are quite a few additions, improvements and changes in this version (some of which were available in unstable releases as well as other brand new ones):

New features:
  • Snickerstream will now try to allow itself through Windows Firewall if ran as admin (requires Windows Vista/Server 2008 or later and the script to be compiled).
  • An update warner has been added, it will check for new versions as soon as Snickerstream has been launched (can be disabled, only works for official releases). Thanks to Real96 for the suggestion!
  • Auto-disconnect feature: Snickerstream will now automatically return to the connection window if the 3DS disconnects (aka a certain amount of time passes without any frames being recieved). The default amount is set to 6 seconds but can be adjusted by adding/editing ReturnAfterMsec in settings.ini (setting it to 0 or a negative value will disable this feature). Thanks to /u/DaWoblefet on the 3dshacks subreddit for the suggestion!
  • Frame limiter (disabled by default): you can now limit the number of frames per second displayed by the prioritized screen. Useful if you have a bad connection or you prefer a stream with a constant framerate rather than having your FPS jump around to the maximum possible value at all times. This feature can be enabled by adding/editing Framelimit=XX in settings.ini, where XX specifies the desired maximum FPS you want for the prioritized screen (setting it to 0 or a negative value will disable it). If enabled, the frame prioritized screen’s FPS will be displayed on the title bar, thus letting you know that the limiter is working as intended.
Improvements & Bug fixes:
  • The internal UDP buffer has been decreased from 2000 to 1448 bytes, slightly improving performance and decreasing resource usage.
  • The title bar will now show the client’s status while waiting for a 3DS to connect (ex. “Starting remoteplay…”, “Connecting…”, etc.)
  • Screenshots will only capture the windows’ contents, with the mouse cursor being hidden again.
  • If Snickerstream won’t automatically detect your monitor’s scaling settings you’ll be able to manually set the streaming window’s initial size by setting “CustomWidth” and “CustomHeight” to your preferred values in settings.ini. Please note that these options will only resize the window and WON’T scale its contents! (See the wiki on GitHub for more info)
NOTE: If you’ve been using unstable Snickerstream builds, please note that the INI key “Framelock” has been renamed to “Framelimit”!

As usual, you can download Snickerstream from GitHub.
Happy streaming! :D

Awesome update. Actually seems like I am getting more stable frames than Kit-kat now!

Quick question. Anyway to separately scale the top from the bottom screen?

Reducing the UDP buffer to 1448 bytes worked better than expected, I was honestly getting performance on par with NTRViewer in general before the change but I too noticed more stable frames at high FPS after reducing the buffer!

Anyways separate screen saling is currently the only feature that NTRViewer has and Snickerstream doesn't (technically there's also no command line arguments but in practice I figured that if you really wanted something like it, you could just make a script or batch file that edits/overwrites settings.ini and then opens the client - and that's why I haven't bothered adding command line arguments yet). It has already been suggested by quite a lot of users and I planned to include it this update, however WAAAAY too much time passed since the last version's release so I simply decided to postpone it.

TL;DR - It might not be possible right now, but it definitely will be in the next version ;)

Request: When using top only, bottom only, or fullscreen modes, can you add a hotkey to switch between top and bottom like in Desmume?

I'm replying to you guys only now because I needed to take a break due to something awful that happened on the 13th of this month: my pet dog died due to a brain tumor. Losing a pet is always terrible, but this was made even worse by the fact that I've literally had him by my side for more than half my entire life so far. I was very attached to it and, in fact, I still haven't completely recovered from this loss, but at least I can bring myself to post something over here now. (I wrote about it on the 3dshacks subreddit because I was getting a lot of notifications over there, but in retrospect, I should've posted about it here aswell.)

The standard Windows icon sizes are 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 and 256x256. Remember that Windows allows you to pack multiple images in a single ICO file so, for example, if you downscale your 256px icon to 16px and it doesn't look good, you can draw the 16px one separately and then include it in the same ICO file so that it'll look nice. Let me know if you need help.

Request: When using top only, bottom only, or fullscreen modes, can you add a hotkey to switch between top and bottom like in Desmume?
I was thinking about doing that for the fullscreen modes but it makes sense for top/bottom only windowed modes too. I'll see what I can do.

Nice! I’d love a macOS version.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I know what losing a pet is like. I’m really sorry for your loss and I bet your dog loved you
