I recently had to RMA my switch and the guy told me "For legal reasons, I can't tell you that we will transfer the saves over" What they mean by telling you that, they cant get in trouble. If they said "Yea we can 100% guarantee that your saves will be transferred" and they end up with the switch not being able to turn on or the saves are corrupt from hardware failure, you could sue because they promised you service that they can't provide. At-least thats what the guy on the phone told me.

If the switch still functions, they will transfer the saves over. They will update it and transfer everything over. Settings, saves, home layout. But they will most likely replace it with a new one like they did with me. My fan was running at 100% 24/7 and they just couldn't find what the issue was. But I got the new switch back and popped my sd card in and bam it acted like it never left my house.

Mine came a little warped from the box.
I just bought a replacement case on aliexpress.... if things gets worse, I will just swap it and be done with it.

Most switches get warped. Atleast everybody i know and so did mine. I opened up mine wich voids the warranty and put diamond paste on it instead and it felt lots of cooler to the touch afterwards

I can confirm that my switch that I don't consider warped and I haven't noticed anything wrong about would be warped by your standards.

The screen protrudes about a fingernail from the rest of the console in the right side, you can easily feel it if you run your finger around it.

I hope it stays like this and doesn't get worse (but I've used quite a lot during the last year, so I hope it's already as bad as it will ever be).

PS: and as I don't think a "fingernail" is a standard measure unit, I clarify I mean about the width of a fingernail, perhaps 0.2mm.

And they just could offer saving to microsd or transfering saves backup to microsd. Or even online saves.

I sent mine to nintendo some months ago, the bend was so bad that the switch wouldn't even slide down the dock without me pushing it down.

Received a new one back with all the saves intact and shortcuts to download again the games i had installed on the old switch.

My switch also warped. Took some time to carefully bend back to how its supposed to be. Hasnt bent/warped again, yet.
