Harbour Masters' latest PC port is Banjo Kazooie, and it's launching next month

With many a fantastic port under their belts, Harbour Masters return with a brand new project dubbed Lighthouse. Set to release next month, it'll once again throw Banjo Kazooie into the spotlight. This isn't the first PC port the game has received, with it getting a recompiled release earlier this year, but the team do have a hefty list of reasons to check this version out. Beyond the standard wide-screen support and support for higher framerates, it'll include a randomiser at launch where you'll be able to shuffle Notes, Jinjos, Mumbo Tokens, Empty Honeycombs, and Jiggies, on top of abilities. You're also getting ROM hack support out of the box and co-op play.

Though it won't be in the game at launch, support for the multi-world randomiser Archipelago is also in the works. This would be the first time any version of Banjo Kazooie has been compatible, with only Banjo Tooie currently being supported.

The port launches next month, with it likely being available to download on GitHub. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more.

Feels like the rare exception at this point...

Ship of Harkinian: Switch abandoned long ago.
2Ship2Harkinian: Never.
Ghostship: Did get 2.0, but nothing prior, guess we'll see where it goes.
Spaghetti Kart: Abandoned.
Starship: Ancient release, guess we'll see.
Ship of Harkinian is being maintained by someone else on their discord

So glad that they're also doing Rareware games since they're much harder to emulate.
And it's also going to have multiplayer, I can't wait!

Very cool!
I hope they offer different palettes/skins for the Banjos in co-op mode though. They could borrow them from the Smash Bros. skins. :)

Ship of Harkinian: I'm maintaining an up-to-date fork: github.com/timschneeb/Shipwright-Switch
2Ship2Harkinian: Maintained by YoshiCrystal9: github.com/YoshiCrystal9/2ship2harkinian-Switch
Ghostship: I helped them get the Switch port working for 2.0 and will keep an eye on it if it breaks again. (The only thing missing from this port right now is the new code modding system, because I would need to port the 'Tiny C compiler' to the Switch and implement dynamic library loading from scratch which is a huge task.)
Spaghetti Kart: I recently fixed their Switch port and while there hasn't been a new stable version with it published yet, you can grab a test build here: https://github.com/HarbourMasters/SpaghettiKart/pull/705

Yah I was able to find my way around the Discord and figure out where to get Switch related things, but it's still the same question... With SoH they shipped out a Switch release for so long, then they ditched it. And I wanted to know why THEY ditched most Switch support.

It is of course AMAZING that other folks are maintaining in their own forks, but there's NO MENTION of that on the main harbourmasters site. It's not obvious even in the Discord where to find those things.

Anyways, I'm not really trying to complain or anything, all the work being done by harbourmasters and the community is awesome. Thank you for the post and response, very appreciated.

I think there were no active maintainers for that SoH Switch port at the time. And the Wii U and Switch ports added quite a bit of extra code since they are so different from PC platforms, so it was easier to drop it and reduce the maintenance burden.

But yeah, the main site needs updating and finding forks isn't obvious. At least for my unofficial SoH Switch fork, I'll make a dedicated thread here for the next update so it can be found more easily.
