So, I have been trying to make a pokemon black ROM hack where you play as brendan, and I've gotten the battle back sprite to work, but when I inject my edited overworld sprites into a/0/7/9.narc, I start the game, it gives me the pokemon logo, fades to black, and stays black. Nothing will load. To see the NARC file, go to the Projectpokemon post of the same name, as I can't upload NARC files here. Please tell me what I've done wrong!

EDIT: I got the game to load this time, but now all of the menu options appear without any text, and selecting anything causes it to freeze on a black screen. Also just tried it with White 1 (Not volt white) And it freezes again on a black screen after the pokemon logo. It seems that there are only issues when i inject a/0/7/9.

probably spacing. by that memory management. if you vastly changed the file and put way more in it you may have found the limit. but if its roughly the same size as before then it may be an internal problem. as in it was repacked with stuff missing and due to that stuff missing the game hangs. either way get a debug emulator and get that emulator to spit out its logs and try to decipher from that what is going wrong. by this I mean compare to the regular unedited version of the game logs and see if your version is heading to completely different spots. a file compare of the two logs should really help you in that. especially if you are crafty enough to do a macro of the actions for whatever you emulate and log first to use for the second when you emulate. that way the logs should be identical. and anything different is what you need to look at or get looked at.

without more info that is all I can really say.

Thanks, I'll try this. Hopefully I can figure this out.
