Homebrew Help! 3DS won't update Games or System on BS9 Luma 9.0

Ok everyone, so I'm back to square one. I'm on 11.2.0-4U and Luma 9.0 but i can't system update and that prevents me from going online on certain games that needs a system update. Any ideas?

Same thing as last time, the bar goes to like 99% then it says "an error occurred system will restart."

As a matter of troubleshooting, I would backup your NAND, and then I would perform a CTRNAND transfer following this guide: https://3ds.guide/ctrtransfer.html

When you're done, try updating your system.

Thanks, i have a NAND backup. But this CTRTransfer is for 11.5 and the latest version is 11.6 so it still wouldn't solve my problem of not being able to go online.

After you perform the CTRNAND transfer, you will be on 11.5, and then you will attempt to update to 11.6 in the system settings.

Guess i could try it, nothing else seems to be working.

Hey thanks! It worked! But it also wiped out all the games....i don't see them on the homescreen anymore. I do have save backups though, so i guess i'll have to reinstall them and reload the saves. It's a hassle but at least I'm on latest firmware.

LOL! Right, my bad! Yes! It's working now, all the games are back! Thanks so much!

I do have this one weird file on the home menu though, this white box that if i click on it the screen goes black and i have to power off the 3ds. Do you know how i can get rid of it?

Is there anything odd in your titles list in FBI? Is there anything odd in your data management settings?

Problem solved! It was leftover data in my DSIWare, i just had to delete it! It wasn't showing in FBI or under the 3ds Datamanagement, only in DSIware

In the end, I just installed a CTRTransfer image, and then it updated normally.

Backup your NAND freshly, and try the update from recovery mode.
