Planning to get a download code for it on my new 2ds xl on 11.6 for a secondary exploit. Is it still working?

Yes, for old versions of the game (which may or may not be still downloadable anymore)

And an ntrboot flashcard is cheaper and does more...

Got it. It came with 1.0.1 which is supported. Do you know a simple way to do this on windows?

No, the prerequisites are pretty clear - you need Linux (even if you cheat with a VM and usb passthrough - still extra complexity that may go wrong) and a compatible wireless card

If you got the download code for Christmas you might have been better off selling it and using the money to get an ntrboot capable flashcart. Then you could download the game anyway (and any other game you might want).

Why are they here otherwise? And installing cfw is the best way to have permanent access to Homebrew anyway.

Maybe for homebrew/screen capture etc? I have nothing against suggesting them to install CFW, but advertising to install roms is questionable.

Just wanted to point out that selling the download code won't mean he never gets to play the game if he wishes to
