Sounds good.

What exactly is the CFW? And so I can just upload games into the r4i and plug it into 3ds and play then? Sounds easier.
You can pretty much do anything you want with your 3DS with cfw. Play any 3DS game installed to your home menu, and install Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, SNES (N3DS only) and NES games to your home menu, steam your gameplay to a pc (N3DS only), install vast arrays of homebrew applications. If you can imagine it you can (probably) do it.

Oh, that sounds pretty cool. I couldn't find the CFW you mentioned in the link, but maybe it's just my tired eyes.
Also I'm assuming I would need the flash cart to install CFW?

Yes, just rename the file you want to launch to boot.firm, and NTRBoot will load that file, even if the 3DS is bricked

Luckily, I didn't tried to unbrick any 3DS yet, but I heard that it should work even with blue-screen bricks (when the 3DS doesn't find the NAND)

Yeah because your firmware is over 11.3 you'll need a flashcart to install it. Just follow the steps in the link (you'll have to go to subsequent pages after that one). You may be able to use your current AK2i with your DS lite.

aaah, every time I blink it looks like the whole CFW thing changes! =A=
I just updated to B9S from A9LH. Everything's working.
I just wanted to know if the latest way to use cheat codes is still through NTR. Also, is there any new sites with a plugin database or something? The Tomodachi life plugin I downloaded isn't working for me... ;u;
Ah also, I love the Gateshark/ARcode codes, is there any new ways of using that in B9S that don't require downgrading my web browser? :')

Hello everyone :)

just few questions

I am in market for N3DS XL. I really want Snes edition os Samus one. Both of them will be probably with 11.4. What are my options? I dont want to do Hardmod. Is there any chance in near future for something better than R4 cards? I dont trust them and i want to use 128GB card.

Last thing. What can you do, when there is some hardware problem and you need to RMA 3DS? I mean, something faulty like buttons or display etc. and you already modified your 3DS with hacks and CFW. Can you reverse that process if you dont have fully functional 3DO?

Thanks for answers

There are three options, DSiWare hax (requiring a second already hacked console), ntrboot (requiring a compatible flashcart), or a hardmod (requiring soldering experience and equipment). There's unlikely to be anything before EOL because it is now so easy. I don't understand your last sentence of this question. Why don't you "trust" flashcarts? Are you afraid they'll become sentient and rob you? What does 128GB have to do with anything?

I don't know what RMA is or what you are asking here.

Hello, fair warning, I'm quite new to this and not particularly well-read yet, but;

Quick question: I recently softmodded an first-generation 2DS at firmware version 11.3 by following the instructions or my hardware/firmware at 3ds.guide. However, something I'm unable to find information on is whether or not I can still access netplay features of games like Monster Hunter XX or Pokemon Moon. I'm still on 11.3 after following the guide, and have had no luck bypassing the update prompt by using ctr-httpwn. Am I missing something? If that or a similar exploit isn't an option, is it safe/possible to update to 11.6 while retaining my luma/b9s installation? Many thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Update to 11.6, like the guide told you to.
  1. Update your device by going to System Settings, then “Other Settings”, then going all the way to the right and using “System Update”
    • Updates while using B9S + Luma (what you have) are safe
    • If this gives you an error, set your DNS settings to “auto”
    • If this still gives you an error, follow CTRTransfer, then try updating again

I have the following error occuring:

"An error has occurred:

Failed to mount SD and CTRNAND.

Press any button to shutdown"

For background information. My N3DS was running Luma 6.6 and I hadn't booted it for over a year. I was booting it up to update it and utilize some CFW features to find it wouldn't boot. Upon inspection of my SD card it appeared certain directories were corrupt. I, unfortunately, in my infinite wisdom deleted these folders. I tried referencing 3ds.guide but no guides exist regarding a Luma 6.6 installation. I have attached a screenshot of the root directory of my SD card.

Put arm9loaderhax.bin from Luma 7.0.5 on the root of your SD card. You can get it from https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases

believe me, the smaller the sd card, the better. Nintendo recommends an sd card of 32GBs or lower. I'm personally using a 128GB card, and I've noticed a delay when booting up the system. plus, the home menu can be sluggish at times especially when the sd card is nearly full with 100+ games installed.
