What did you installed or launched before trying to install SsConfTool?
1. Turned on WiiU
2. launched mocha cfw
3. opened eshop -> message that I have to update
4. started the update and waited to be finished
5. opened ftp everywhere and copied the 4 folders + digest.bin to pc - > copied the 4 folders + digest.bin back to sd:/install
6. reboot
7. running mochacfw again and update was running -> 1% then error
8. opened sysconfigtool and selected all 4 folders in sd:/install and pressed R for installing
9. selected reboot in sysconfigtool
10. after reboot, I was back in sysconfigtool and in the upper right corner : 5.5.2E

11. tested eshop and all was working, so 5.5.2 was installed successfully

thanks a lot, but when you installed the SysConfigTool app itself, wht was your mocha config file, and wahat did you launched in order to install it on rednand? thank you for your dedication ^^

ah I see, sorry slow-thinker at this time...
just opened mochacfw, then 'wupinstaller y mod' and installed sysconfigtool in rednands internal memory

and then I rebooted and did the steps I wrote above

about mocha config ... dunno, never checked the config file or whatsoever

Hi, I just came to bring my case:
I am seeing a lot of people saying that it is not possible to update rednand through the system, well, I updated it, I started rednand Wednesday and it entered and it already started to update without giving me option, and updated xD,
I do not use mocha, I use haxchi + IOSUHAX, just updated kkk

Could someone explain to me why my case is different?

@Ferras2 Maybe your Sys-and RedNand are linked or your SysNand was on 5.5.2 before you've tried updating RedNand. Who knows. I can speak for my situation only.

I did it, I followed a tuto on gbatemp how to install sysconftool and I then installed the 4 files, then I launched SSB4 and it said update and then the game launched and it worked, thanks a lot for the help ! ^^

Hey, just let you know that I've just managed to update rednand to 5.5.2 without any updating nag when accessing eshop. The case is after installing the 4 titles, we need to reboot using SysConfigTool rather than exit and restart the system. Thanks for helping.

For the people in here that updated their rednand to 5.5.2, did you also update your sysnand to 5.5.2? If so does mocha CFW still provide all patches in rednand?

Quick question if anyone can help...I have sysnand on 5.5.1E and rednand also on 5.5.1E, I'd like to attempt upgrading rednand to 5.5.2E but leave sysnand on 5.5.1E. I'm not sure if mine are linked, I went down the route of installing haxchi over an eshop title and installed rednand on a 64GB USB card. Rednand is launched by running Haxchi from sysnand and loads through mocha. My question is, if I use win32 disk imager or another Windows imaging too to to backup the SD card before attempting the update and it screws up or if I install the update and want to roll back to 5.5.1 at a later date, would restoring the backup image to the SD card work? Thanks in advance.

You can check if they are linked by making a folder on the sysnand, and if it copies they are linked, if not they are not linked. You can backup with the wii u nand backup tool given, just search and you'll find it. There's a tut on here on how to update only rednand. You grab the 5.5.2E upgrade files and use either system config, or wup installer (original) to install the updates. This will only update rednand, but if you want the sysnand updated and not rednand, just update the system. If you want both, (which won't make a difference) update the system, and set up rednand again, as it will not work properly after the system update even with a backup if it has 5.5.2, 5.5.1 will work fine if you update the sysnand only.

Thanks for the info, it looks like mine are not linked, i managed to get the updated installed after some trial and error, I posted a reply at the end of this thread; http://ftp.gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-update-rednand-to-5-5-2.477906/page-2

Just for your information.

Actually i have a "real" nand in 5.5.1 and rednand in 5.5.3.

Updated from the system update menu in rednand in 5.5.2 (With "real nand" in 5.5.1) and now im in rednand 5.5.3 with "real" nand in 5.5.1.

0 Problemos and all work perfectly.
