So..I read some people saying RetroArch can be usted to play dumped roms in the SNES Mini; I would like to ask if this is correct and if it is, how?
Watch his video? Very interesting using putty and clover to execute commands direct on snes mini, then if working added to script.

Need wire serial connection to snes mini tho

Does anyone know if it will be possible for the SNESC to run roms that are patched with translations, expansions, randomizes, etc?
With Retroarch, yes for sure! Rgs.

And with SNES Mini emulator too! :)

Yet, for some reason, I can't run FFVI's translation from RPGOne. Crashes with C7 error.
Could be emulator incompatibility, who knows?

Can any of the gurus tell me if you can just add folders and they will magically appear in the snes mini menu?
(Assuming we follow the conventions in naming, pic sizes etc.)

I have the header problem sorted out so far :)

You'll need to make some changes to '/etc/preinit.d/b0000_defines'. Change the gamepath to '/usr/share/games', copy the games from '/usr/share/games' to '/var/lib/hakchi/rootfs/usr/share/games' and reboot your SNES Mini.
This will fix overmounting of /usr/share/games (while keeping original games), and you'll be able to write there. After that just FTP your files so the injected folders look like this:

Well, anyone can. Just add the header/footer to ROM and edit .desktop and .png ;)

It's easier to use Cluster's clovershell, just use Hakchi2 to dump the original kernel and flash the custom kernel. You'll instantly get access to FTP and Telnet after that. Easy-peasy.

How?? But you also need to dump the NAND, I thought his tool wasn't ready yet, so how is that possible? And surely, doing it without everything finalized is a pretty big brick risk. If someone would make a tutorial, I might be willing to inject Chrono Trigger, but...IDK. Maybe someone could PM a tutorial?:unsure:

Nah, the only thing you need to dump is the kernel.
Since the hardware is the same, Hakchi2 works perfectly with SNES Mini. Kernel patching works fine, too. Just build the Hakchi2 yourself from the latest commit.
The only problem is the paths that are hardcoded in hakchi scripts, and without fixing these manually you won't get write access to games folder. It's really easy to fix though.

I don't have the know how or patience to do build it, unfortunately, I'd just as soon wait for someone to compile for those who want to use it. There really should
be a tutorial. It can't be that hard to write a tutorial right?

According to KMFDManic, the specialist : "It will not be all that much different than the NES Classic. You will get the 260-300 Mb or so to work with. Games should be able to be added and compress to 7zip format, using RetroArch. But, the default emulator that comes with the SNES Classic, will probably not work with compression. So, games would take up nearly twice as much size. So, basically 150 games or so if compressed, half that if non-compressed. We will get things going within the next week or few, for sure!" Rgs.
I have 137 roms ready to go, and uncompressed they're 210 MB. The same set of roms, when compressed, is 138 MB.
So I think your numbers may be a bit off.
