I mean I don't want to waste everyone's time doing this but I am almost certain if it's going to be anything it's going to be this. It reminds me of the easter egg in Splatoon to allow motion controls for two player. The buttons were highlighted in one of the scrolls you unlock. Just wish we knew where to press this combination or whether we have to hold it or what
Well, you know that you can't access some functions while on certain modes right?
Like, for example, you can't acces TV settings while undocked and you can't enable airplane mode while docked.
But for some reason it lets you access the touchscreen input test while docked, even tho you can't do anything from there - I tried touching the outer parts of the touchscreen while docked and it didn't recognize anything.
So maybe that's the place to do a button combination or something while docked

I was wrong, I just watched that video back frame by frame and X is included too, the actual button combination is X, Y, right joystick, B

Tried the Y+B+Stick thing and nothing. Could even be the button input test screen, maybe entering some combination there.

The X button doesn't appear to be highlighted in my menu... just Y, B and the stick.

Er, you sure about that? I can see the X if I squint, so I believe that, but it still looks like X Y B RightStick to me...

EDIT: Though, If I have to be honest, having B be the last stroke would make more sense, considering B=Back=out of menu

It's not only in the video but I saw it when rapidly trying to take screenshots of what was happening, play the youtube video at 0.25 speed and use > and < to go through frame by frame. I don't know, I've actually lost confidence that this is a hint now, after seeing X appear highlighted when going frame by frame (who would do that?). Maybe it is just a neat animation after all

Yeah, I think OP's was an accident - one time bugs that can't be reproduced happen here and there. Most likely that.

I do believe that this would be an easter egg in the system though. It's a bit of work for something unreleased, and it's hardcoded into the system.

As an aside, I went through a few mental gymnastics to think maybe putting your joycons in backwards, so if you're wondering - no, putting your joycons in backwards doesn't work.
