Hello,i have a O3DS (FW 4.5) with Gateway emunand(11.2) and i want to move on CWF using a new SD card.Once i follow the guide and update sysnad to 11.5,can i still use gateway emunad(on my old sd card)???.Sorry for bad english. Thanks
Νο you will not be able to use gateway. You will have to keep a NAND backup on hand, and flash it to downgrade to 4.5/9.2 whenever you feel like running gateway.

Followed the OCS guide on my 11.3 n3ds and installed cfw just fine, but upon rebooting, system menu nand is sysnand instead of emunand and booting with either L or R still boots to sysnand. When I launched OCS the second time, it failed to install the files but did boot to homebrew launcher. I'm a bit confused and could use some help.

Just got my hands on a N3DS-XL. Bad news is JAP, and all the UI is in pure japanese. My question is, can I change the language using CFW? I know there should be no issues playing games from other regions once I install Luma, but I'm wondering if I'll be stuck with a fully japanese interface. Not an easy language to learn :(

What is "OCS"? If you mean 3ds.guide, you're supposed to be on SysNAND and it's perfectly normal.

Tried following this guide to make things easier. It should've installed FBI and other stuff but gave me some errors there. Soundhax launches straight to homebrew launcher now and I can boot the Luma menu when pressing L+R+Select on boot.

And unrelated kinda. If I'm supposed to just use sysnand now. Does updating the fw break it? I suppose the boot9strap is what's keeping it safe? Is that patched to the firmware or do I need to keep in on my SD?

So you have Luma (btw. to boot to Luma settings you only need to hold select) Did it install any apps to your home menu? Can you get to GodMode9 by holding start on boot?

Yes. Updating is generally safe. You should wait for the community to confirm the update is safe before updating if you're not sure. Nintendo can't remove b9s. Luma prevents that.

It didn't install anything on the home menu. It did give me a few errors on the second time I launched the soundhax where supposedely a few apps should've been installed.
And now for some reason I must've messed up the button commands for settings (even though I'm positive I left it as L+R+Select) since it won't show the options menu. Not sure if Godmode9 should show anything different. At least it still shows Sys by the firmware version so I'm sure Luma is still installed.

Would deleting the Luma folder relaunch the settings menu?

Holding select on boot should launch Luma settings and start GodMode9. Do those work? When you press L + DOWN + SELECT while the 3ds is in the home menu, do you get Rosalina menu?

Oh that Rosalina menu was what actually launched before. That works.

What happens when you do this (copied from 3ds.guide):

Launch the Download Play application

Press (L) + (Down) + (Select) at the same time to open the Rosalina menu

Select “Miscellaneous options”

Select “Switch the hb. title to the current app.”

Press (B) to continue

Press (B) to return to the Rosalina main menu

Press (B) to exit the Rosalina menu

Press (Home), then close Download Play

Launch the Download Play application

It replaced the download play with the Hombrew Launcher. I guess I should install FBI from there, right? Since the OCS guide didn't work out, could you link a different one please?

I appreciate the help!

Hi guys. A few questions for you.

1- How does NTRBoot works. I thought it was a CFW like Luma. But today I noticed that when I launch the NTRBoot.cia (3.6 for what it worth), I can still access Rosalina (that comes with Luma, right?) So am i still in Luma after I launch NTRBoot?

2- What is the L2 cache and what does enabling/disabling it do?

3- The Luma overclocking is when it's needed or anytime. Would it save the battery not to enabling it?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

NTR just adds functionality, it isn't a CFW on its own.

You don't need to name it like that. Yes you should be accessing it through start+power. Are you using the latest version of Decrypt9? Perhaps the author needs to update the program.

I have been using the latest one, as far as I know, but I would still check, Ma'am.
Thank you so much for your help!
