For ps one emulation, the vita uses the touch-pads as shoulder buttons. So perhaps that could be added to any form of emulation for the system.
Not saying PS2 emu will ever be a thing on Vita since i highly doubt it

I would personally want an exploit for 3.65 so that means I can save $30 on buying a motherboard, but I doubt that will happen!

Beat Shenmue 1 on my S5 and played through Disk 1,2,3 of Shenmue II, before i kept reaching a crash on disk 4 which prevented me from carrying on the story. so i you-tubed the rest of the disk lol. But i own a OG xbox now so Shenmue ii is something i will replay soon and also not to mention i could use my craptop to run Shenmue 2 and then stream it to my Vita using this:

(But that wont happen for a long while since that vita app isnt even close to release yet!)

So even though i might be able to stream Shenmue via reicast from pc to vita in the near future, i personally would rather play Shenmue via a reicast emulator port on vita since that is the optimum way to play for me.

I Really could not of said it better .. im actually on Disk 2 of shenmue 1 using Reicast ... gave up on shenmue 2 on Reicast to much messing around to make it work ... but i bought it for xbox from gamestop for $14 .. im hoping for a HD Remake of the 1st 2 games before Shemue 3 hits us next year .. i would definately buy them ... i still have my Dreamcast back in london .. with a whole box of games ... asked my brother to send it to usa for me ... but yeah ........... brothers never help lol

Perhaps this message is a little late for you now but i will tell you the secret to good brothers:

Train them at a young age to respect you and do things for you. Be just and fair and then later in life they will return the favor most of the times. That is how my relationship with my brother has developed. First he was your typical annoying little brother but after hanging out with him and teaching him things and how to act cool and giving him advice on life and all, he finally begun to change and since then he hasn't gone back to being annoying at all lol.

............. back in 2015 when i found out Shenmue 3 was gonna get kick-started, i decided to replay shenmue again but i diddnt have a dc anymore. So i then found out about reicast and got me shenmue 1+2 and played through both of them on my Galaxy s5. Shenmue 1 worked flawlessly BUT shenmue 2 had MAJOR BUGS! So i reported solutions to each of the BUGS that i encountered during my play-through of DISK 1-3 using the reicast build that i did back in 2015. There ALSO are bug solutions by OTHER users who encountered problems during their more RECENT play-through of Shenmue II

I HIGHLY recommend you replay shenmue II and try my and the other users bug solutions and you might be able to make it as far as I did which was beginning of DISK 4.(as soon as i saw the shenmue tree, i encountered a non kill-able bug LOL). But only try it if you want to and if you haven't played Shenmue II before!

Also Shenmue HD remasters are something SEGA wants to make happen and they ARE looking into it but here is my view on that (this view is shared by many of the longtime shenmuedojo users)

IF SEGA dont unveil the Shenmue HD remasters at E3 2018, We likely wont ever see them

Oh and since you own an OG XBOX why not soft modd it and play shenmue that way! (just saying... shenmue retail is expensive as hell these days. But that is one game where i accept why it is highly priced since it was a masterpiece at the time of its release).

Either ways, we have Shenmue 3 in 2018 and maybe HD remasters in 2018 or 2019 and hopefully reicast on Vita or Switch at some point in the far future. BTW Shenmue 3 and the HD remasters if they happen would be amazing on the Nintendo Switch since it is essentially the Vita II.

And yeah i better stop there before i continue derailing my own thread with shenmue stuff!

Good luck with Shenmue 1 since i love that game and i think of it as my favorite of the two games. I really love the small map with the high detail and ton of content rather than the huge map with many areas.(i am referring to Kowloon here).

Didn't think shenmue 1 was expensive in europe. Only knew about shenmue 2 sega dreamcast version being expensive for europe. In general if you are a shenmue fan i feel it is worth it to own both games in some form. For me i have a complete usa copy of shenmue 1 for sega dreamcast and a complete copy of shenmue 2 for the original xbox. Want the european shenmue 2 for sega dreamcast but it cost over 100 us dollars now.

I agree a new firmware exploit would open doors to more games and updates to the ones we currently have, but Flow is more keen on Vitashell and Adrenalin support.
Maybe the Vita will be able to mount our PC HDD for more game space

Is there any reason why everyone is saying n64? Has there been hints or something? Would be awesome but I don't think it's coming. I'm going to assume vita shell and something for sd2vita, adrenaline now doesn't need to activated. I'm hoping there's more but that's all I expect.

I remember the old 1.50 days and likes of Devhook. Was it MPH or something that was the first downgrader for fw 2.00?

I'll be happy for popsloader support or something, as a few games don't work and I'm not a fan of Retroarch for a quick workaround.

insane huh? I got it from some old granny at a carboot, the console was her grandsons and she diddnt now the first thing about games. I felt bad when i found out that the prices of all those items = £123 LOL

Problem is, everyone has cottoned on to it nowadays and it's getting harder to find a good bargain. More so, since retro is popular now, scalpers are in the mix, too much pricing matching with ebay as a guideline, etc...
