Hacking You can now (in theory) install b9s on a stock o3ds using just a magnet and an r4i gold.

The developer of the .NDS flasher has said that this isn't officially supported.

Well, I've tried this already: used the .nds flasher, loaded flashrom, ejected SD card without ejecting the cartridge with the pin, but sadly, it didn't work :(
It just shows different numbers (HW rev. etc.) any time I press A. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or maybe that's because of using r4i Gold RTS (but it does work with B9S flasher)
I'm using New 3DS but it shouldn't make a difference, right?
Thats the strange thing, nobody whos done it on a n3ds can get it to work, but it works on all the o3ds' i tested it with.

I got this to work on my new 3ds xl and now have luma and b9s on it.

@ItsKipz you may want to update the OP to reflect only using an r4i or r4i compatible variant and the install process for the flashcard has also changed.

Don't really wanna take that risk, but if i get the OK from mods i can share an r4i gold dump.
Are flashcard firmwares even protected by copyright law considering they aren't legal in the first place? I wouldn't think those firmwares themselves would be considered piracy by the TEMP.
its fine. lilith has multiple ones posted and it went over just fine.

I wonder if Nintendo will eventually take one last swing at blocking flashcarts in response to this. Probably not, but still.

Yeah it makes sense I guess since the magnet+sleep allows bootrom access through the flashcard. I don't see why you would NEED a CFW already to run NTR_Flasher in the first place, since it boots before that. Has anyone actually done it yet? I really wish I could try Lol.

I don't understand what you are getting at. You need ntrboot already flashed to run ntrboot_flasher before the 3DS boots to OFW. Otherwise, why would ntrboot_flasher be needed in the first place?

Don't mind me, it was like 5am without sleep Lol. I have no idea what I was even trying to say Haha.

I just meant that the the flashcard itself has access to the bootrom through sleepmode (Without NTR flasher) which is why it let's you flash it in the first place. The only reason it didn't work yesterday was because of the DSi compatibility.

How did you get it working yesterday when it was not working before?

Nice that it works on the newest firmware 11.5 to install cfw without having to downgrade. Hopefully if possible it gets fixed to that it works on n3ds/xl.
