Awhile ago I setup USB Loader GX to play some backups. I remember going through a long process of deciding on which d2x, base, slot, etc. would be best to use and I somehow came to the conclusion that d2x v10beta53-alt base 56 on IOS 249 was the one to use.
Can't say that I've had any problems with it so far.
Anyway, I'd like to setup NAND Emulation so that everything including my WiiWare/VC games and Wii save games run off my USB drive. Here are a few questions that I've come up with:
1. What is the best version of d2x to use?
I've read that d2x rather than d2x-alt is better for NAND Emulation?
This is my current d2x configuration:
IOS249[56] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta53-alt): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS250[57] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta53-alt): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
IOS251[58] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, NAND Access, USB 2.0
So should I install d2x-v10beta52 over my 249 and 250 slots?
Also, what's the purpose of IOS 251 with base 58 and d2x? Aren't 56 and 57 the only ones really used for playing games? I don't even remember installing it in the first place.
2. What is the best NAND Emulation method?
Using the dump NAND feature in USB Loader GX sounds like the easiest solution, but is there a better method? I've heard about NEEK, NEEK2O, SNEEK, etc. but I'm not really sure about what they all do and the differences between them. I'll definitely do some more reading on all that, but in the meantime any input would be appreciated.
3. Overall, is NAND Emulation worth it?
The reason I'd like to set it up is to that I don't have to worry about running out of space on the Wii and also to extend the life of the Wii's NAND.
For those of you who have NAND Emulation setup, does it work well, or are there too many compatibility issues to make it worthwhile?
My sysCheck is attached for anyone who might want to take a look at it.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
